Verizon Should Learn From Publix How To Treat & Service Their Customers. This Is My Personal Experience.

Publix knows how to treat and take care of their customers. In the few short years I have experienced Publix they bend over backward to make sure you are a satisfied customer. Recently, I discovered that they did not carry a particular item in which they use to carry. I inquired about it and wondered if they will be able to get it in again. They took down my information and said they will look into it. I heard nothing from them so I checked in a few days ago and they said the paperwork maybe in motion. I checked again today and they did start to search and they did get approval to order it as a one time order and they had to seek out the distributor to see if they still have it to place the order.
Today, you just do not find that kind of customer service in the marketplace. When you do find it be thankful for it because more than not you will not find this type of customer service. I am not saying all places do not act like this. I am saying that years ago you use to find this type of customer service much more frequent than you find it to be in our modern day and age in which we live in. I hope they can get this product that would be such a blessing to me. On the flip side of the coin I will share my experience with Verizon.
I have been a client of theirs for many years. Their customer service was much better before they grew too big too fast. Once they grew, it is as though they do not feel they need to take care of their standing customers with the service they use to years prior. Remember when you could get a better and much nicer phone for no charge when your contract was up, to entice you to renew a new contract? Well, I have struggled for over a year to try to think about renewing my contract with them. I would call and see if they had the type of phone I wanted with the features I wanted and a plan that was not outrageously priced. All I wanted was the ability to text with a qwerty keyboard and upgraded camera with video capability. Also, to be able to converse too on the phone. I do not think that is an unreasonable request. I had to go to a smart phone or something like that and when you do that you then have to go to those plans that can handle the capabilities of that phone. All of that for just a few features on a phone? The majority of the time that I was a customer with them I rarely used up the minutes and even text messages I was paying for. To me that is just wasted money thrown right out the window. This is the situation now, they want everyone to use a smart phone and then have to get the data plans that can become quite costly after you add everything on it. They will give you a great deal on one of those phones but you are paying the premium for that phone in the 2 year contract and outrageous monthly bills. Try to seek out a phone with just a few features you want and more than likely there will not be a phone to accomodate you. They must remember that not everyone out there wants all the bells and whistles on a phone. Why not accomodate their needs and concerns and keep it at a great price point also.
I purchased a phone that I was told had the capabilities I was looking for. The sales person made a phone call and supposedly verified that it did indeed have camera/video capability. I purchased the phone and as they were about to transfer contact information I was reading the service booklet and it made no mention at all of video capability. Sure enough, it did not have it and the sales person was gone for the day and another rep. had to clean up the mistake of the original rep. That is terrible that that rep deceived not only me but the rep. that took over for them. They were not even able to credit my account I had to wait until the office opened and they took care of it. Lesson learned in this scenario, not all Verizon retail locations are corporate stores. This was one of those stores that was a franchise, I am not sure of the terminology, it was not a corporate store. I should have gone to a corporate store. I do not know if they would have been able to even offer me anything anyhow. I did call a corporate store and the rep seemed to be in a hurry on the phone to answer my questions and suggested I should come into the store. That type of customer service is really not customer service.
I finally found a phone that has all the features and it is one of those smart phones, I think that is how they refer to them. It was a great deal a really good deal. I had to then get one of those no contract pre-paid phone cards with unlimited everything. It is at a reasonable price point too. When I called Verizon to inform them of my dissatisfaction with them and I was leaving them they then informed me they also offer no contract plans. I asked about a comparable phone to what I purchased. I could get one for $20.00 more than what I paid. I stated to them why would I pay $20.00 more than what I paid to get a similar phone? They made mention of this a few times and again I said I am not interested. I also told them again of how they grew too fast too big and their customer service suffered from this. I would also like to share with you that I did have good experiences with Verizon years ago, that was before they started adding all kinds of things to your bill and they gave the consumer what they asked for and were seeking out in a phone plan.
Life sure is an adventure isn't it? Ask questions and know where your money is going. Why do they not offer plans for people that are customized to what they want and not what you think they should have. If anyone captures that they will find success. I wonder if the large cellular phone companies are losing business as the people are taking their business to pre-paid plans. These are just my thoughts and my experience. I am sure there are those out there that have had opposite experiences and for that I am thankful. I suppose the season you are in your life may determine what you are seeking as a consumer. Be watchful and use wisdom and God will guide you to the right plan or direction for the purpose to be fulfilled in your very life. Just ask Him to share with you and He will. He is so very faithful. He is faithful not like a retail store that can make mistakes. He created you and knows the good and glorious plans He has for your very life.
