I was up early that Sunday and I baked. Oatmeal squares with the flavor of blueberry. Oh, my goodness, the cost of pie filling and jams sure have gone up in price at the grocery store recently. This is what I did, I used blueberry pie filling then sprinkled fresh blackberries, raspberries and blueberries on top of the filling then the oatmeal crumble on top of that and they all meld together wonderfully when they bake in the oven. Since I'm staying away from sugar and my mom will no longer be coming for visits with me, I used the Amish made rhubarb (she loved rhubarb and made the best homemade pie crust when making strawberry rhubarb pie from scratch of course) jam in a little section with fresh raspberries over the jam portion. I was meeting up with friends late that afternoon to go to the worship/prayer gathering on the square in Franklin, TN. I watched Jimmy Swaggart on tv in the morning. I tried out my new Hurley beach wagon as the mode of transporting camp chairs to sit in, water bottles, and my hand-held percussion instruments to worship with. So good to gather with friends and fellow believers in prayer and worship.
It was cloudy and there was a bit of coolness and breezes in the air. We arrived and it was not what I expected to take place. There were clusters of people throughout the square praying and worship. We found a place to sit temporarily in the street to begin with (the street was blocked off to traffic.) It was mild sort of worship the style sort of like kumbaya type worship. I went in between 2 different groups and as Holy Spirt led I played the rain stick. It just was not radical enough for me or upbeat tempo enough for me. I think I apologized to my friends for coming to this because I thought it was going to be a set up like the 12 different worship groups were going to be on the main platform area and we were all going to gather together in one spot for prayer and worship. I inquired and was told they would all be gathering in about 25 minutes, so we agreed to stay and get seats moved to the sidewalk area now. I saw an older woman that was playing a tambourine and shared how I like more exuberant type of worship and she agreed with me. Hold on now because I am about to share with you what happened, and we were so glad we stayed because a mighty wind/move of God took place right on the steps of City Hall. I kept thinking the woman playing the tambourine resembled a dear friend of mine that was older, and I would visit with her when I lived in Ohio, but she has been in heaven for many years now. She sure did look like Mary Flynn. Moments before we all gathered together, I hear the sound of a shofar blowing. It was a powerful and strong sound coming forth right behind us when the tambourine woman was now blowing in the shofar. I do believe something broke in the spirit realm in that moment. In retrospect thinking the next day I pondered that God could send an angel in human form to jump start this gathering and He sure could send one looking just like my friend Mary.
Then she is up by the steps of City Hall, and they ask her to blow the shofar, and in the microphone, they announced that once the shofar was blown, we were to all gather together in the area where the sound system was set up. The people were gathering. We had a good view before the space was filled up with people gathering to worship & prayer. Next, a white-haired man begins to speak and reminds us of what happened on Pentecost when they all began to pray/speak in tongues and he admonished us to start praying in tongues right on the square in Franklin, Tn. Power was flowing when we began to pray out loud as a group in tongues. I would be explaining things as they were happening to my 2 friends of what was going on. Then the praise/worship picked up in tempo and I had freedom to worship with a rain stick and some small percussion instruments. My friends each had one too to worship with. A lady next to me I sensed she was clapping and exuberant and offered to her if she would like to use one of the handheld percussion instruments and she gladly said yes. She said a few times pointing to me that she found her sister (meaning common spirits that is). There were times right there on the square the GLORY shout came forth out of me. I explained it to that lady, and I said sometimes it will well up inside o you then you release it out loud. For her it was the word hallelujah. The momentum is still picking up.
My all-time favorite portion of this gathering was when a born-again veteran shared a bit of their testimony. From that they were led to do an altar call. Four people responded to the invitation and then after he prayed with them prophetic blessing words came forth. To God be the glory 4 people gave their hearts to Jesus right on the level area above the steps to city hall. Then there was a spitfire person praying and I totally understood the deliverance type of words they spoke forth. See, what I thought was a lemon from the start actually turned out to the sweetness of lemonade so to speak when Holy Spirit swept across that place with wind and fire. So glad we stayed until the very end. I felt led to go up to the organizers spouse and share with them that the gathering was beautiful. I did say it was slow to start but once we all gathered together it was beautiful. She asked my name, and I gave it to her.
I then went to dinner with my friends, and we met up with her daughter, son-in-law, grandson and husband and we had dinner together.
Oh, back to the blueberry squares. Made a plate for my friend's family and a small plate for Don Finto if he was there to thank him because it was his ministry that sent me the email telling me about this gathering. They announced he already left so that plate went to my friend's children to enjoy. It is a long drive in the night driving back home. I usually don't do that because even the highway heading home tends to get dark with less highway lights. It was worth every bit of leaving when I did to be able to fellowship with others.
I know I received some sort of Holy Spirit impartation because I had a 3-part dream early the next morning. Destiny type of dream all interrelated. The last part of the dream I saw a digital clock image of 10:45AM so when I woke up, I thought to myself wow, I never sleep until 10:45AM. In actuality it was 8:55AM when I looked at the clock and was still amazed, I slept in that late. I knew I was given the time in a dream to search out in scripture a chapter 10 verse 45. I found it in Acts 10:45-46: "All the believers who were circumcised and who had come with Peter were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured on people who were not Jewish. They heard these non-Jewish people speaking in other languages and praising God."
You can't tell me God doesn't speak to His people through the word of God, He just did via a dream and then scripture to back it up. I told you my Holy Spirit adventures are fun and full of life.
