I have not seen my hummingbird friends for 2 days now. That is about right, started their journey southward for the winter months. It was my honor and joy to make home made nectar for them the season they visited me. Will miss them because reality sets in, the colder months are upon us now. I have a great testimony of Holy Spirit protection. The actual day I started to compose this blog I happened to step out on my patio only to find 1 hummingbird there briefly then it flew away. I do believe it came to say goodbye to me, for it was on its way to their journey. I can safely now take down my hummingbird feeders and store them for next years season.
On for about several months now I would notice the interior noise level would get louder and louder progressively. I knew that something may not be right. My gut instinct kept telling me when I would go on my road adventures the noise level is not right. At first I was able to mask it by turning up the worship music volume in the car. Then there came a point that that no longer worked. It gradually kept getting louder, especially when I was driving on the highway. I even tried rolling down the windows at times to block out some of that sound. At first I thought it sounded like wind noise coming into the car. The other day I really listened intently so I could describe it to the mechanic that was going to look at it. It sounded like a machine gun type of rifle noise if I had to guess. Good thing I made an appointment for it to be looked at. Right Wheel Bearings was the problem. I knew enough car stuff to know that was not good or safe either. They fixed my car and the noise is gone now. They also checked my brakes and said I could use brake work. Oddly enough, no tell tale signs of having problems with brakes like I did not hear squeaky noises or have to press down hard on the brake pedal. I knew this much, since I had the car I have not had to replace brake's yet.
They quoted me an additional 700.00 to also replace the brakes and they did not resurface rotors so all would be new parts. I did not have the brakes done there needless to say. I even said to the service advisor are you doing this high pricing for brakes because I am a woman and a Christian too. I was willing to have them do both things on the car if they could get the price @ 1,000.00. He went to his District Manager and said there was nothing they could do. Needless to say I just had them fix the main problem. I have dealt with other companies regarding brakes before with other vehicles I owned. While they were repairing the car they gave me a nice loaner so I was able to not have to stay there and wait for the repair being done. I did some checking out of money it would cost to fix the brakes. I then told them when I came to pick up my car that they were way out of line pricing to replace front brakes,2 places said it would be 400.00. Isn't it amazing that they were then able to quote me 470.00 to replace new front brakes. I graciously declined and went my way in a fixed vehicle that sounded much more quiet in the interior as I drove home. Thank you Holy Spirit for your infamous wisdom and protection.
I scheduled 2 appointments to have brakes checked out. First appointment come to find out back brakes are in great shape but needed new front brake pads and rotors resurfaced. Did you hear me, not brand new rotors but there was enough on the rotors to resurface and was told if need be in the future I may be able to get them resurfaced again before having to replace them. He tells me the price to fix them and I then said I had 1 more appointment with another company. He replied that they always beat them price wise and he would fix my brakes for 190.00 which included tax, the out the door price. I said ok fix them right then and there. See this picture now ...from 700.00 to 400.00 to 470.00 to actual repair price 190.00 I think I did quite well what do you think?
My new computer was delivered to me the other day. Such a kind young man from UPS knocked on my door. He said he didn't want to leave it outside my door, I think he knew it was a computer, I thanked him. Not too pleased with it and really never even fully set it up so I am returning it and I know another will come along for me. I am a person of principle and when I saw the shipping invoice it did not reflect the 40.00 discount I was to receive. There was really nothing but a paper telling you how to plug in the power cord to the laptop. No paperwork explaining the 1 2 3 extra that came with the computer. I called the company and they did assure me the 40.00 was applied to the purchase price and I replied not too pleased that it is not reflected on my invoice. Also told them the little pieces of paper in the box and nothing else in the box. I was told it would be 7.95 to send it back if I was going to when I purchased it since the compute weight was under 5 pounds. I was looking at a return label stating 8 pounds, now that weight would cost 9.95 to ship it back. Purchased it with free shipping to be sent to me. It is a matter of principle with me, told 1 thing then find out it is not so. They were gracious and kind to me and were going to override the return shipping fee to me. That I am most thankful for. Please really check things out to make sure they are accurate when ordering and receiving items in the mail
Speaking about the mail, USPS you are increasing your pricing, choosing to make mail delivery much slower now, WHY? I sent a card in the mail from a local post office on 9/27/2021 to Atlanta. Mind you it was before the date that mail delivery was going to be slower was announced. We were beginning to think it was lost or stolen in the mail. Do you know when it was delivered in the mail? October 8, 2021, 12 days to deliver not a package but a card that is ridiculous. Another thing, I asked a local postal worker why they were exempt from mandate to get vaccinated, their response to me was because the sale of stamps pays their salaries not the government. Sounds like selective favoring to me because don't they reach out for assistance to the government when they mismanage and need assistance to bail them out? Maybe I am wrong or maybe I am right on that. Regardless, forcing people to ingests (take in) something into their body against their will sounds like dictatorship to me not wise governing of the country. Especially when totally illegal people are freely crossing our border into our country and they are not required to follow same dictatorship rules/regulations of legal citizens who work hard and pay their taxes. Paying your taxes to give funding to a group of people that are choosing to enter our country illegally, breaking our laws which govern our country and getting rewarded for it? Bringing in diseases and no one is even taking the time to check them or properly vetting but just releasing them into our country. So, I am thinking out loud again ... if federal government employees go to Mexico and then cross our border into the USA as all the other illegals are doing are they then now exempt from the vaccine mandate. Sounds pretty fair to me when looking at it that way. Just open up Ellis Island again, it worked in the past and let it work again. Put everyone on boats and transport them there and have them 1 by 1 checked medical/criminal backgrounds. If they didn't qualify they get back on the boat and are then sent back to their country of origin. I am sure the boats of today are much nicer then the boats used to transport people may years ago when Ellis Island was operating.
Final thought, total of my car repairs was under 1,000.00 imagine that!
As I concluded this blog writing Holy Spirit gave me Ezekiel 29 to include in the blog. I read it first before entering it in the blog. Very Interesting, talks about the 10th month, 12th day of that month.
