Well, I do like to try out new products or the idea of a new concept when it comes to cooking. This time it is Cook's Companion Electric Air Fryer. I am a skeptical consumer that is also a frugal shopper. When I see a new concept/item advertised I will wait for the right opportunity to try it. I do not know if you have stores called, Bargain Hunt, where you live. The way it works is a certain percentage is deducted from the selling price the longer the item is on the shelf in the store. That is how I bought my electric pressure cooker, and now my electric air fryer. As long as you keep your receipt you have 30 days to bring back the item if you do not like it.
I liked this air fryer and I am glad I purchased it. As I said, I am skeptical until I test out the product. I like to make my own burgers and then freeze them individually so I have one ready when I want to make one. I put a frozen burger in the air fryer and I never had a plump, juicy burger like that one when I made it in the air fryer. I also did the same with a thick pork chop. I marinated a steak in a mixture of bold flavored steak sauce and Italian dressing. It was delicious, I put the marinade on top of it while it cooked in the air fryer and it seemed to caramelize a little on the steak. The air fryer pulls out the fat but the meat remains juicy.
I made home made french fries once out of one potato, that was too much work for me. I did also try making frozen sweet potato fries, the All Natural Alexia brand (there are less products added to the potatoes that I do not know what they are when you read the label.) On other frozen french fries there are ingredients that I do not even know what they are. If I do not know what it is then it just may not be so good for me. That is how I look at it.
I did buy an oil sprayer made by Chef'N. You only gently spray either non-stick cooking spray or oil that is sprayed on with an oil sprayer. It is a neat cooking tool. You place oil in the container, then you prime it a few times and then it lightly sprays out. I even tried it when I made a salad dressing. I like to make my own salad dressing. I season with garlic salt and pepper then I now spray the salad with the oil (much less is used than when I would pour oil on the salad) I then add my vinegar. I like to use apple cider vinegar, white wine vinegar, and red wine vinegar. It depends on what mood I am in that determines what vinegar I will use. I have used Balsamic vinegar. I do not particularly care for the slightly sweet taste to it.

I Am Sorry To Say That I Cannot Recommend This Product. "Clean & Pure" water filter Model 3060 by Paragon Water Systems, Inc.
I purchased this item about one and a half years ago. It is a water filtration system that you connect to your kitchen faucet and when you want filtered water you turn the nozzle one direction and the water from your sink goes through the filtration system and hence, filtered water is what you are now drinking. It was fine and I did use it on a regular basis. I would use it when cooking, making ice cubes, and for drinking water. One day I was getting my water from the system and all of a sudden out of nowhere it started to spray water from one of the indentations on the unit along with the water coming out of the receptacle on the top of the unit.
I called the company in Tampa, FL and was told there is nothing they can do about it since the unit is over 90 days old. I questioned the person I was speaking with on the phone, what about the 25,000 gallons of water the unit was suppose to be good for when they presented it/sold it on one of the shopping networks. I was told by the employee that their unit is still working and they had their unit for 9 years. That does me no good to hear that story when mine obviously is not working correctly and it did not pump 25,000 gallons of water through my unit. This was not a $5.00 unit when I bought it. I do believe I bought 2 at the same time, that may have been the offer to buy 2 units for I think it may have been 49.00 or something around that figure. I actually gave one away as a gift, I sure hope that one does work properly. The employee's solution to me was to get some type of sealant that is approved as food safe, something to that effect. Why do companies not stand behind their products?
Well, when I searched a little further on the label under the product, guess where it was made??? It was made in China. Why does it seem like so many products we purchase are made in China?
This is my suggestion, on the television shopping networks they should in good conscience let the consumer know where the product is made. They should have some sort of symbol that appears next to the item number (i.e. an American flag or some similar symbol) that lets the consumer know the product they are ordering is made in the USA. These are just some thoughts from a consumer that does not like giving away my hard earned money to a product that doesn't last. There are very wise consumers out there and they should have better choices when it comes to purchasing items.
