When Zoey was a little puppy I taught her how to go down the flight of stairs. Let's back this up a bit, she somehow got up those stairs she was not supposed to be on any how at the time. Do you think she remembers me? When I arrived at their home she did not even bark one bit when I came inside. I think she just might sense Holy Spirit presence what do you think. I try to teach her things like I will ask her where are the angels, where is Jesus. I even tell her to go play with the angels too. She likes to sit by me too. There is 1 picture where she was sitting on an ottoman and was trying to see if she could balance her weight on my foot to then get over to me to sit on my lap. So funny, I said Zoey you can't do that. She figured that out and then found another way to sit on my lap. There was just 1 beautiful, full blossomed gardenia outside so I went out to pick it to bring inside to put in a little vase. I got this idea, I wonder if Zoey would like to smell the pleasant fragrance of the gardenia. I put it up close to her nose and she smelled it, she really did and she did not back away. I said to her, this is a gardenia and this is what it smells like.
I don't mind visiting with people that have sweet puppies like Zoey I just do not like taking care of pets, that is not my strong point. Dog hair that sheds, picking up dog droppings after they do their thing while walking them. Oh just the thought of that, that is just not me. Playing with them, teaching them I like, just not being the custodial person that actually has to take of them all the time though. What about if you travel or go on daytime adventures who would take care of them, like feed them or let them outside to go to the bathroom. I would guess you would have to get someone to take care of them. Even my own son, he has a cat and I recently did not stay there because his cat in the middle of the night jumped/pounced right on me while I was sleeping in the bed last time I was there. I said to him to please come and get his cat off of me. He even set up a barrier so the cat wouldn't come into the bedroom area. He lives in a studio type of dwelling so there is no bedroom door you can close. He didn't like it too much when I suggested putting his cat in a crate/carrier during the night if I would stay there. He said the cat doesn't like it and would whine all night long. Next suggestion was to put it in the same carrier and on the porch. He responded it is not an outside cat. One final suggestion then keep it in the carrier and inside his car for the night. Did not like that suggestion either. I had one more final suggestion, don't you have any friends that would take the cat for a few days, he said he could look around and see. So, apparently a pet cat takes precedent over a human being, his mother that is. As you can tell I am really not wired to be a pet owner for one reason or another. Sort of like the concept of grandparents ... the children come to visit and you have fun but the main parenting is handled by their parents when they come to pick them up after a visit. We spent our younger days raising our children so it is now fun to have fun with our children's children right? I love my son and I did visit with him. Our Atlanta family all met at a local restaurant in Dunwoody. We left in the nick of time though when we finished eating. I happened to hear on the radio that the Atlanta Braves won the game and the traffic was getting pretty bad in the Dunwoody area after the game.
This past trip was mainly not for visiting I was there to help get my mom's new apartment ready for her to move into. It really is a lovely community for independent living. Sort of like being in a hotel or cruise ship setting in some respects. So many activities you can participate in and they even have a dress code of some sort for meals other than breakfast. We would meet the friendliest residents as we would be taking things over to her apartment to set up for her. The concept is to have mainly things moved set up before she actually moves the main pieces of furniture on moving day. It was actually fun to set up the pantry, organize cupboards & closets. Fill the freezer with her freezer items and the frig too. I brought a couple of outdoor plants for her too for her patio. She has a lovely courtyard view when sitting on the patio with lovely sunsets she can see also. As I was leaving to head back home I asked her if she would like the tee shirt I was wearing. My mom is a prayerful person and I said if she wore it, there maybe people would ask her to pray for them. So, I will launder it and send it to her in the mail. Hey, how many people do you know that are 92 years old and can move into an independent living community. Even the elevator reminds me of the nice elevators you would get into in at a fine department store or an upscale type of hotel elevator. Most of all, the people we have met are lovely

| I know why Zoey and I bond so well together, we have similar hair color. |

| Here's the tee shirt. I am trying to let my hair grow out a little. I tend to get a bit impatient |
