First of all I think I can officially call this a summer cold that I have. It is not allergy but I am pretty congested now and I trust God that He will take care of me as I walk through this. So if you do not know this about me I am not a fan of driving in metropolitan areas especially during rush hour traffic.Tonight I stepped out of my comfort zone and did drive in rush hour to get to an event I was looking forward to.It is not the easiest typing and trying to breathe through congestion.I felt it was my job to go ahead of my friends and save seats for us now this is where the story starts...we ended up getting really good seats do you want to know how we did?I was standing in line and there was this lovely couple standing behind me. We struck up a conversation and it continued on. When they opened the doors to the venue the gentleman said let's go this way. Of course I am the cautious one and said how can we do that? He said once all the doors were opened he guided his wife and myself to an open area where there was no line and we just went right up to the doors and got in. It was a little freeing I must admit to do something a little daring like that. I looked back and said there are people following us now. So, they have been to the venue before and I said where do we sit I have never been here before and I let them guide us to great seats. I let them know I had to save about 10 seats for my friends when they arrived. They were such a kind couple and the wife then began to find pieces of paper and we folded them and put a few on a few of the seats. My job at that point was to keep watch over the seats and text my friends to exactly where we would be sitting. I think we were 7 rows from the floor on the side so we were actually seeing the back side of the piano player. It was a great time of fellowship while waiting for my friends to arrive. I did share some of my anointing oil I had with me (the one produced from the bible that is flowing with anointing oil.) I told them they were more than welcome to bless themselves with the oil. I let them know in advance that I am a worshiper and I brought with me 2 of my percussion shaker instruments.
I love to worship the Lord and this was a great place for that tonight. Holy Spirit had me just look around a few times during the night to see the mass of people gathered worshiping Jesus. I looked a few times because I just could not get over how many people sat in the really high up seats. One thing we all had in common was worship and prayer. I was overwhelmed as I looked around and saw how many gathered for this purpose. People who love Jesus and are not ashamed to worship Him and agree with pastors in their prayers.
Twice I heard the words, "You are experiencing history." When I heard it the second time I jotted down the time it was, it was 9:10PM. Going home was smooth sailing, no traffic backs up or anything like that. So you see, I was able to step out of my comfort zone and drive when I did. I then met the couple behind me and the rest is history so to speak. They guided us to great seats. So we were all blessed. I loved their story of how they met. They told me the church they use to belong to and I think it was the church that was collecting donations as you left the venue that were going to be given to a local charity. They now attend another church and they invited me to their church. I shared with them that I do marketplace ministry on Sunday's so I may not be able to attend. I was given directions in the event that I was able to join them. It is so refreshing when someone is giving me directions and I can visualize as they are giving the directions to me. I like that. We exchanged phone numbers.
Moral of the story, if I did not choose to step outside of my comfort zone I would have missed a blessing within a blessing. I will close with this thought, "Trust and obey for it truly is the only way ok." Hey I think obey and ok rhyme. A poet and I did not even know it. Poet and know it rhyme too. How funny is that.
