Whole Foods Market Not So Good; Sprouts Farmers Market Very Good. Let Me Explain My Recent Experience...

I drove not quite an hour to go to Whole Foods Market. What a disappointment. Now, I went there for the rosemary sourdough bread and I did get that. When I walked in the store I saw a sign that said organic peaches $1.99 I think it was per pound. I selected two peaches. Now it was my failure on my part that I did not read it completely to see it was the price I believe for those that are Amazon Plus or something like that. I have no interest in Amazon Plus at all. What a shame that customers are penalized if you are not a member. I did not discover until I was in my car that I paid 3.99 a pound. I called the store from my car and that is when it was explained to me the difference in price. I have been watching ever since the merger that took place and you hear on the news how prices have been reduced. I have not found that to be so. I must be fair in this, I gauge it on the price of a loaf of either sourdough or rosemary sourdough bread. Guess what, it has not gone down it is still 4.99 a loaf. On a sale you can catch it at 3.99 a loaf. When I called the store the person I spoke with was very cordial and offered a refund if I wanted bring it back in for a refund. I chose to let it go and then went to Sprouts Farmers Market. Peaches were considerably less per pound and I purchased some fresh apricots there also.
I must admit though that the I like the service better at the Sprouts Market closer to me. I went to the local Sprouts today and I had exceptional customer service. I am not going to go into detail about it. Just know it was customer service above and beyond. If Sprouts Market was able to sell rosemary sourdough bread in the San Francisco style sourdough by Sprouts Market Corner Bakery I would no longer shop at Whole Foods Market except when I am in the Atlanta area. I do not understand why the Whole Foods Market in Atlanta gets it right but this other one does not. I inquired about this a few times. Why would you bake a loaf of bread and let it sit out for several hours to dry out so to speak. When I am in the Atlanta region they bake the bread then place it in a plastic bag (I believe it does not dry out as fast.)
I do pay 2.99 for a 9 ounce size sourdough at Sprouts Farmers Market but I enjoy it and it is not over baked or dried out either. You may wonder what is the big deal with sourdough bread? I have found two types of sourdough that are made without yeast in the bread do you know how hard it is to find that? Trust me it is easier said than done. What I do is keep it in the freezer and bring out a slice when I want it so it does not spoil that way.
OK I hope I did not burst your bubble if you are a Whole Foods Market fan. This is my experience and my thoughts on this subject. I must admit, I had a very nice conversation with the lady in the bakery  at Whole Foods, we briefly talked about discipline. The reason we had the opportunity to have a brief discussion was I asked her to please slice the loaf of bread for me. I do not like the idea of the customer handling/selecting a loaf of bread and then having to slice it also. My reasoning is germs or unsanitary with not having gloves etc. This is an area that self help should steer away from in my opinion.
