What Do You Do When Holy Spirit SpeaksTo Your Heart, That's A Silly ? You Listen And Respond OK

You know it is not always very long dissertations when Holy Spirit speaks to you. Yes, there are times like that but sometimes the sweetest, most profound words are short phrases to me. I was in my quiet time with the Holy Spirit early this morning and I heard a simple question presented to me. It was at 5:15AM when this happened. "Go forth and bless the nations." Instead of just saying OK I responded back with "How will I do that?" He so graciously responded to me with very simple words that I could not question any further, "He told me He will show me how to do this." I agreed and that was that. Once I feel at ease that He is the one guiding me I rest in that and do not struggle. He has told me more than once throughout the yeas that He loves that I have the child like faith that He searches for. Even as he reminds me of this child like faith I am crying because that is what He searches for. Sometimes the most profound words in our conversations is when He gently speaks the simple yet powerful single word "TRUST." Truthfully I  just say OK when He speaks this to my heart. I really do and I then go about my day.
In the midst of my day today at work. While listening to CBN praise music tears welled up in my eyes as I listened to the song I mentioned the other day that inspired me when creating a banner years ago. I was hearing the song "Jesus Lover of My Soul." Music speaks to me a lot. I have been playing that song, "Down to the River" by Michael W. Smith recently. I have it on a prior blog for you to listen to. How come I never ever heard this song in my life prior to now? Is this an old time hymn? Well, I am a praise person at heart and I have a few percussion instruments I use to use a lot during praise/worship. I brought one out and keep it in my purse for when I go to church. It is many years old and I was blessed with it by a friend of mine that knew I love to worship. When I use to pick up a tambourine (do people even use tambourine's anymore for praise/worship?) I can only explain it like this...it is as though I am just the vessel and music springs forth from this instrument. It is as though Holy Spirit shows me in the spirit how and what movements to use with the tambourine in my hand during worship. It is as though I become a live instrument unto the Lord. I probably need to find my tambourine (I think it was a blue tambourine.) You see, when I pick up a percussion instrument it is the sound that I listen for that leads me to just the right one. It is the same way for me when I pick out wind chimes. It is a certain sound and when I know the sound then I just know that is the one.
I had a beautiful rain stick instrument years ago and I was on a praise team and I would use the rain stick with the gentle flow of sound that comes out of it just at the right moments during worship. I ended up giving that to the church. I had a conversation with the pastor because I think I was advised to not share with a church member that was a neighbor of mine about praying in tongues. I was a bit quick witted back then and had an answer in a dignified/respectful way. I shared with the pastor then how could I be on the altar in worship and I am praying in tongues silently? How could I remain there when that was a big part of my life and not be able to share praying in tongues with my neighbor? Isn't it funny how Holy Spirit will place you in situations but also gives you responses when needed.
At a church I attended years ago I worked on a small project with the kids church. The children needed praise instruments right? Well we got plastic Easter eggs and if I remember correctly we filled them with rice (uncooked rice that is) and sealed them so each had their own "shaker egg" to use during worship.
Back to the story now, when I play that song I use that little percussion shaker instrument and I play it to the beat of the song.
Worship is not only for/or in church it is in your heart. One thing I have found to be true throughout the years is that Holy Spirit is faithful.
This is one of my percussion "shaker" instruments which is great for praise/worship. Notice that it is warn a bit from use.
