This is what I wrote almost 14 years ago.
10/15/1996
Before I read Scripture this day there was an envelope in the back of my bible that I looked at. It was from my father, dated October 18, 1978. Placed inside the envelope, was a branch from an olive tree that was over 3,000 years old, from The Garden of Gethsemane.
About a year or so ago I was guided to give a piece of the branch to a woman to assist her with her healing/deliverance ministry. This woman would pray over me at church during the monthly healing service. Many times in front of the tabernacle, the Lord allowed me to rest in the spirit.
There are four pieces of the branch left. On this day, I was guided to place the four pieces into my bottle of scented anointing oil. The oil was scented with frankincense and myrrh.
There are days when I know not who or why I place the oil onto a finger and make the sign of the cross on both palms of my hands and forehead. Always one comes into my life that day that the Lord touches. Either through prayer, or words spoken from the Holy Spirit through me to the one in need. On occasion the Holy Spirit guides me to place the oil in the sign of the cross onto the person. I let the Holy Spirit guide me as to where the person needs the peace and healing that only comes from the Holy Spirit. As I do this words and images come into my mind. There is no meaning of these words for me personally, I just share them with the one I am led to that day. Always when words are exchanged after the words are given to the person (from the Holy Spirit) a confirmation is given to me. Explaining what the particular words and images meant in that persons life. On occasion, a person will share with me that no one but the Lord knew the particular image or words shared. It was something that they struggled with in their life and only shared it with the Lord.
I truly love my calling, for that is exactly what it is. I am very open to the Holy Spirit. As I am called upon I respond with an open heart and mind. There are days when I wake up and think I am going to do this, this, and this. How the day changes from my initial thoughts. For there is someone, that is reaching out to the Lord in their moment of need. The Holy Spirit guides me onto their path, so He can do great works in their life.
Ministry work is being open to the calling and promptings of the Holy Spirit. It is a giving up of your own will to put aside your thoughts and opinions to let the Holy Spirit flow through you to get to the one in need.
