It Is A Very Good Thing When Your Children Advance Beyond Your Experience

All I can say is WOW. I wrote this draft at 3 something this afternoon and then I went and watched TBN's Praise-A-Thon and one of the preachers actually spoke on this very subject. Don't tell me that God is not speaking to His people today. He sure did speak to me earlier today and then it was confirmed a short time later. I was then truly blessed to be able to plant a monetary seed on behalf of this very thing. Praise God.
How many of us long to see our children advance beyond the experiences that we have lived or are currently living? What do I mean by that? It is simple, did not your parents want you to excel beyond their life experiences? Most people will answer yes to that. If you are a parent there is this desire built inside of you. There is nothing more rewarding than to see your children advance beyond the realm that you were in, in that particular point in their life than where you were at at their age.
Let me share this. When I was in college we only had the desire/insight to go to FL for Spring Break. Not the kids of this current generation. One of my children went to Las Vegas for a Spring Break to visit a friend and another went to Puerto Rico. I never went to Vegas and it wasn't until I went on my honeymoon that I was able to travel to Puerto Rico. Not only that, I had to find a telephone to call my mom to let her know I arrived safely. Today, all my child had to do was text me to let me know that they arrived safely and they were visiting Old San Juan. Why did I not think bigger when I was in college? I don't know the answer to that question but I do know this, I am very happy that my children had the opportunity to be more creative with their travel experiences. Each time they travel I always tell them to have fun, be safe and one of the most important things I always tell them is to use wisdom.
When I went to Puerto Rico I never dreamed that my very child would be walking the beaches and the streets of Old San Juan where their father and I walked many years before the thought was even conceived of them being born. To me that is amazing. The same when one of my children went to Croatia I was already there twice and again, the blessing to be able to walk on the very streets that I walked on. I look with anticipation to see what the horizon brings forth for my children. That is my prayer for my children that they advance with what they are called/destined to do with their lives. What an exciting time for parents to live in now. Look with expectancy to see where God will take your children to fulfill destiny. Always keep them covered with your prayers for them and never tire of telling them how much you love them and what a treasure and gift they are to you. If you text message why don't you text them and tell them that you believe in them.
