Before I left home I put that very song on repeat to play in my home while I was away. Guess what song I was listening to in the car? "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" by James W. Goll. I knew one thing I needed to get fresh raspberries to decorate my cheesecake I baked last night. I think I also have some raspberry preserves I may warm up as a glaze to put on top of the cheesecake first. I also save a few Ghirardelli Chocolate Raspberry candies to decorate with. See, I create and a glimpse comes to me and as I begin to gather then more info is shed upon me. I am gathering with friends today for a late lunch French cuisine meal at a local French restaurant. I said I would bake a cheesecake also.
I do have a Philadelphia Cream Cheese Cheesecake cookbook. I did not know if my friends liked mint so I adapted the recipe. I tend to do that with recipes, I really do. So instead of using Andes mint candies chopped up to go into the batter I substituted Ghirardelli Chocolate Raspberry candies that I chopped up and put into the batter. I adapted the recipe to make two smaller cheesecakes. One to feed 4-6 and the other for 2. God has a plan in all of this, He really does. See, there is a co-worker getting married on my birthday weekend in August and I want to bless her and her future husband. So I will bake this and bring it into work for her.
I go past the seafood department and see a former neighbor and stopped to say hello. His children were infants when they moved from where I live and now the twins are 5 years old and the eldest is now 9 years old. I know I should move to a house again, when the timing is right in God's eyes and His timing it will happen. So I am in the check out lane and being taken care of me. The employee asked me if the person behind me groceries were also mine to be rung up. I do not think she knew they were not my groceries. Holy Spirit speaks to me ask her if she is a single mom. She was older in age and responded that her children were grown and she was there shopping to make a meal for a homeless couple. I then hear $10.00. I ask the clerk if I could pay $10.00 towards her bill. We figured it out this way, I get the $10.00 back and give it to the person behind me's bill. I turn to the lady behind me and tell her to tell the homeless couple and I pointed to my tee shirt "Miracles Happen." She shared with me she was going to wear her "Joy" tee shirt she got from church but didn't she then thanked me and I said thank Holy Spirit as I pointed upward. That is my story.
I share these journey's with you to encourage you to hear Holy Spirit and then respond. See, in the natural I was not all dressed up in the finest outfit today or even have any make up on or fix my hair but I was this...an open vessel to minister to those Holy Spirit put on my path. Want to hear the funny thing? I was heading to this very Kroger store and this tiny thought came into my mind go to the other Kroger but I dismissed that thought and good thing I did. Blessing time to bless others. How appropriate that I am wearing a Joan Hunter ministry tee shirt and I learned from her ministry that I am blessed to be a blessing to bless others. I do not share to brag or anything like that. I want to pass on lessons learned so you can then be blessed to be a blessing to bless others. When Holy Spirit tells me to stop sharing of this nature I will obey. Until that moment I will continue to share, I trust that is ok with you. My first call is to Holy Spirit and His direction in my life.
