The Cake Is Baked & Decorated; Homemade Meatballs/Sauce & Garlic Bread Prepped Also. Oh, Can't Have A 98th Ladies In The Neighborhood Celebration Without Chips/Dip & Latest Rolled Gold Select Pretzels In Garlic Parmesan Flavor Birthday Celebration Can You.

I gather monthly in the home of a neighbor just for fellowship. Well, one of the ladies in the neighborhood will be turning 98 years young next week. I got this idea weeks ago that even though we decided not to meet in July since people are busy in the Summer, how can we not gather to celebrate this dear, praying woman of God birthday. We sneakily inquired of her favorite flavor of cake and if she thought she would feel up to it. I found out it is butter pecan and another neighbor also inquired in which she said Kimberly asked me the same and I told her butter pecan cake. So, she also gave us a date that would work for her, and the small gathering was in the works. My one neighbor is very good at making the flyers and distributes them to the ladies. I baked last night the butter pecan cake and made homemade butter cream frosting and I then decorated the cake also. Nothing fancy though, just topped it with pieces of pecans. The other day I felt energetic and made smaller in size meatballs with Italian sauce to serve them in. I then said to myself you can't have Italian meatballs without homemade garlic bread, right? So, I have a real family loved/tested recipe for garlic bread. I gathered from my little herb garden freshly picked parsley, dill and chives to chop up in the softened butter along with dried garlic and freshly ground garlic also. You get a loaf of Italian bread and slice it on a diagonal but not all the way through. You then spread the butter/herb mixture on each side of the bread slices. Then I got an Italian blend of grated cheese and put some inside the bread slices and then I always try to leave some of the butter mixture to place on top of the bread with more cheese this time I used grated parmesan/Romano cheese. You built an aluminum foil type of boat around the bread for baking purposes. Save the bread bag because this is what I do with it. I prep the garlic bread then cover the top with plastic wrap and place back inside the bag to store in the refrigerator until I bake it tomorrow. Isn't this fun? I love doing stuff like this and how many people do you know that are 98 years old? I don't except her. My mother only lived until 93 years old, and I thought that was an accomplishment then.

Do you know that this woman attended brush arbor revivals as a child with her father that was a pastor? She speaks in tongues and when she is able, she still attends Sunday church in person. I would say that is a pretty blessed life, do you agree. When I bake at times, she always says she blesses me for thinking of her and once at her front door. After I handed her the baked goods she spoke in tongues and tapped my forehead, and I received that prayer. My other neighbor has weekly prayer/bible study gatherings in her home. These are the type of people God has me surrounded by, imagine that. Now, you can't have birthday cake without ice cream right, I also picked up some ice cream too. My neighbor that is hosting this has the plates, napkins, beverages, etc. and she found a decoration to go on the cake saying 98. How gracious are the ladies in our neighborhood. Do you think I was placed here by divine appointment?

I have been in the card making mode lately. Thanks to Anna Griffin card making kits I utilize. I made a comfort type of card for Mrs. Betty Jackson's family from World Outreach when I went to her celebration of life service this week. One for my neighbor and one for my friend's mother who will be 93 years old the day before my birthday. Well, I am off to a local farmers market to see if I can find some more white eggplant along with another local farmer who grows the sweetest tasting tomatoes for only 2.00 a bowl. Also looking for the lady that creates with leather beautiful earrings, etc. She always gives you as a gift a leather made with her logo on it key chain and I am searching for 2 items today. I also have been asking her to create bobby pins decorated with some type of leather design to sell. I have a few of mine I am going to give to her as an example of how they are put together and see if she can make a colorful one with possibly some sort of a colorful leather that has fringes, like you see fringes on leather purses, but a much smaller version to fit a bobby pin. I would wear that. Must be the boho coming out of me today. Have fun today and don't forget to celebrate someone's life okay.

Rolled Gold Pretzels we have to talk if we may. How can you justify selling a 16 0z bag of pretzels for 7.29 a bag? Isn't that a bit steep for pretzels? Uh oh, did I just think out loud again.

Maybe this will encourage you today. One of the items I purchased from the lady that creates with leather.
