I was going through pictures a few weeks ago. I felt compelled to keep these pictures on the counter for future reference. The one picture is when I was a hair model for a Matrix hair products training gathering. I am holding my son who was just about to turn 2 years old. His sister is next to us. My friend I was visiting, her son is next to her. We were good friends and we both planned baby showers at work for each other. Her baby shower was before mine. Back then we had our baby showers at nice restaurants. Have you ever heard of this before ... my mother, mother-in-law and even my little niece were invited to my baby shower.
You know I did work for Estee Lauder at one time in my life. Back when I worked in cosmetics was a great time to work in the industry. If I am not mistaken, we had a masquerade themed event. The theme was black & white dress. Instead of wearing masks we decided as a team to be creative, we used our cosmetic line to create a butterfly on each of our faces instead of making masks and wearing them. We did not win and quite frankly, we should have for we were very unique in our design. I think this may have been a time when I actually stayed at The Ritz that night. One of the events both my husband & I stayed at The Ritz. The team you see in this picture was a successful team. We worked together to win a national contest and we each won round trip airline tickets for 2 anywhere in the 48 lower states. It was a small percentage of stores that won this contest across the USA. We really had a creative team. We would have events in our store in which we would transform out training room as a spa event. I loved having events like that at our counter. This is when I would love to make fresh floral arrangements. I would also like to get coordinating plates/napkins to go along with the refreshments we would serve our customers. Those truly were the days of fun working in cosmetics.
Why am I sharing all of this? To show I have tended to work in areas where creativity could flow in me. I was up early today. I had to place the furniture in the hallway to be picked up today. Holy Spirit nudged me to get rid of these pieces of furniture I bought at either moving sales or consignment type of shops. At this time I have no plans to replace this furniture. So, I no longer have dining room seating... I still have 2 counter bar stools though. I like cleaning house and getting rid of baggage so to speak. I prayed over the furniture, anointed it with anointing oil and broke off any ungodly soul ties and spoke blessing to the ones that will get this furniture. 2 of the chairs were heavy and oversized so I had to maneuver them out the door for the pick up that was scheduled. I felt led to bless the veterans so I sought out an organization that does that. God is Good, God is Great and most definitely FAITHFUL.
