I recently took a plunge and decided to try airbnb and it was a great experience. I do suggest connecting with one that is a super host. There is a reason for this. If you have questions or concerns they are most attentive. I was blessed immensely and I left the hostess a thank you gift. I created a treat bag filled with chocolates and a personal thank you note also. Many years ago I was taught by an elder minister in the church that I attended, this is what she did...when travelling she would leave a scripture verse for the cleaning person that took care of her room at the hotel along with a scripture verse (along with a cash tip too) or you can even leave words of encouragement that Holy Spirit gives to you. In my case I combined words of thanks and I felt led to speak and write the blessing in Numbers 6:24-26 "The Lord will bless you and watch over you. The Lord will smile on you and be kind to you. The Lord will look on you with favor and give you peace." The beauty in all of this is I never personally met this hostess but God knows her and knows exactly what she needs to hear.
This is a great tid bit too, I heard the Holy Spirit speak to my heart that this apartment in which I stayed, that a person lived here at one time that prayed a lot. See, trust Holy Spirit and He will get you to the very right place for you to stay.
When I travel I am concerned about germs and things like that. I try to shy away from hotels unless it is a place like The Ritz Carlton or The Four Seasons was a very nice place I stayed at years ago. I cannot recommend it now because I have not been there recently. The Four Seasons in which we stayed when I was still married I believe was in Georgetown. Do you know how we ended up staying there? We were at a hotel and it was definitely a room that smelled very strong of cigarette smoke and I am sensitive to smells like that. I think I woke up with a sinus headache due to smelling that cigarette smoke that permeated in the room. We checked out of there and we found The Four Seasons and stayed there. I think I had a good experience at Holiday Inn Express when visiting the Savannah, GA area. I have stayed at Tara A Country Inn in PA a few times and that was a lovely bed and breakfast. Each of the rooms is designed and named after a character in the book "Gone With The Wind." Again, I have not been there recently so I cannot confirm or deny if it is still a lovely stay. I do recall this when staying in the Rhett Butler room there was something not right with that room it was an eerie feel to the room and it was like evil was looking at you through the mirror in that room. I would go back there just to clear out that presence in the room if the opportunity presented itself to me. If I recall and this was years ago I tried to gently inquire about that room if something ever happened there. I was much more timid then and probably did not ask aggressive type of questions but I know that my knower was telling me something about that room. If I recall correctly that room is located in the older portion of that inn.
Back to germs ok. I travel with a can of Lysol spray and/or Lysol disinfectant wipes. First thing I do is spray and wipe areas that others would leave germs behind if that makes sense, door handles, etc. Even though I stayed at an apartment this time with airbnb I still did this routine. I guess I am trying to say is if I have a choice of a hotel chain or a bed and breakfast or now airbnb I would choose the later before the former mentioned. I think there is charm and character at these residence choices.
Let me caution you about this experience I had. When I started searching for a place I connected with someone that was new to doing this and they had a great nightly rate until...I would ask questions if the mattress is comfortable or should I bring a memory foam mattress topper. I also noticed that it was a great price point until I noticed it was one price in the afternoon and then a higher price that evening. I did not get a satisfactory answer to my question about why the price increase. I guess I was going to book it at one time and then a day or so later the host declined but I never actually went through with booking it. God confirmed by that action that that was not the place He had intended for me to stay at. Try it and I hope you will have a great experience like I did. Oh I never brought a mattress topper with me I felt Holy Spirit not unction me to bring one and guess what? The mattress was comfortable and that means a good nights sleep yay for that. Simple things like that I am most grateful for, I truly am. Count the blessings in your life and do not focus on the negative ok.
I found while on my visit a Fresh Market store and I was able to buy my fresh horseradish root that I will peel and then grate to make the horseradish sauce/dip. Horseradish root is very pungent and I recommend that when you grate it have a window open or a fan going so as to not get hit by that pungent/strong smell and then tears really begin to flow in a strong way. I learned this lesson the hard way when that happened to me, hey at least I can laugh about it now.
Lesson today, trust in the Lord will all that you have and He will guide you. He knows you for He created you and He wants the very best for His children. God is Good, God is great, God is faithful and to that I say AMEN. Blessings to you this very day in Jesus name I pray AMEN.
