I will describe yesterday as God's favor and smile shined upon me. I had an appointment to finally get my Bluetooth fixed in my car. You do not realize how much you may miss something until it is on temporary hold in your life. I had an appointment to look at and confirm that it was the Bluetooth mechanism not functioning properly. The radio works just fine just not this particular component in the big picture. It was a lovely day weather wise too. Beautiful Fall Friday. I came equipped to go on this journey yesterday. I knew there would probably be wait time while at the dealership. Peace just flowed yesterday and I read a bit from James Goll's book, "The Scribe." I then also found myself sitting in the waiting area watching some home renovation show and praying in tongues. Yep, great opportunity to shut my eyes and pray in tongues and that is just what I did.
So, it was confirmed that it was the part that connects Bluetooth but no part in stock. So, I will come back when the part is received and I will enjoy Franklin again within the next couple of days. I had my list of things that needed to get accomplished yesterday with me. My daughter and I sat for a side view (profile) portrait at Cedar Point when she was little. I beleive it was done in chalk. Yes I can confirm it was done in chalk because the other day when I was looking at it some of the chalk came off on my finger. I was in search of getting an upgrade for this portrait. This is interesting ... this child of mine had such a desire to work @ Cedar Point. Now, when this portrait was drawn we did not even live anywhere near this family fun amusement park. My mother-in-law's company she worked for would have their annual family picnic there. We would go. Let's push this forward a bit now. So, when I got divorced I felt led to move to a quaint community by Lake Erie, Vermilion was the city. Not too far from this family fun spot. My daughter worked there in the summers while attending high school. She was faithful to commute on the weekends in the Fall while the park was still open from where she attended college. She is a goal setter child. Before she left working at Cedar Point she wanted to be one of the captain's of the paddle boat ride in Frontier Town. Now, this is not an easy task (at least I think so) to steer this big paddle boat on the river and tell jokes and share the story as you journeyed on this boat ride. I remember the day her brother and myself sat as a passenger and experienced my daughter doing a great job at this. I do believe this job helped launch her to get accepted into the internship program at Disney where she spent months in that internship program at the close of her college years. She actually graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in this field. I do not recall the official title of her major.
She then went on to working for Universal Studios for a season in her life. I think she was able to see the reality side of the amusements park industry when she worked for them in a customer related position. She would tell of the stories of how people felt they deserved to get something if they had a not so nice experience while visiting as a guest. You know, unfortunately people tend to look for freebie's and will try all sorts of things to see if they can get some. I will leave it at that. She eventually worked her way back to Ohio and is no longer working in that industry. Imagine that, you have a dream at a young age and within a matter of years you attain it. Pretty impressive what do you think? So, her desire in life catapulted her to going after that dream.
It was time to find a new picture frame and matte for the portrait. Hobby Lobby in Franklin helped me with this. I hope you like it because I do. The color of the matte matches colors in my bedroom so that is where it will take its place on one of the walls. I also have a watercolor picture my son painted for me when he was young. It may have been for a birthday of mine. I had it hanging over the new bed in the guest bedroom but it looks like it needs an updated matte also. That will be my project to inject life into this. Can't wait to see how this turns out. See, I love simple things like these examples that bring joy to my heart. Oh, back to Hobby Lobby story now. I am checking out and Lauren the cashier compliments me about the picture. I share with her my daughter is now 35 years old. She told me I looked the same now as in the portrait. I thanked her and told her I was 62 years old. She was so pleasant and most helpful that I went in search of management to compliment her. You know it is most important to compliment when you have great customer service given to you as opposed to being quick to complain to management when the opposite occurs. If you receive great customer service in this day and age in which we live in then seek out management and let them know ok.
I found a few items at Tuesday Morning. This is interesting, I happened to take a picture of peanuts from Peterson's Nuts, they are from Solon, Ohio. Years ago when I would be in that part of town I would stop in at their outlet store to purchase items that they would be featuring. You never knew what you would find until you shopped there that day. Sometimes a good catch and others not as good of a catch. I found gold embossed hummingbird note cards also @ Tuesday Morning. I wanted fresh flowers for some reason yesterday. Next stop, Kroger's and sure enough I found 2 different shades of tulips that were reduced for only $1.00 each bunch. I still needed some fresh eucalyptus to go along with this. Off in search @ Whole Foods and I found it along with a fresh loaf of Rosemary Sourdough bread. As I sit here writing this I can smell the scent of eucalyptus in the air. The song I had on "replay" yesterday was by We The Kingdom, "Dancing on the Waves." As I was driving home on Arno Road I began to feel the GLORY shout arise in me and the word Glory comes forth from me in a long shout in the car. I drove a little bit further and tears fill my eyes as I reminisce in this oh so beautiful day. When I listen to this song it causes my insides to be stirred and I see myself swaying in the gentle wind dancing with Jesus. What a glorious Savior I serve and to know I am loved by Him.
