My plan was to head to Nashville last night for the Nashville Outpouring under the big, white tent. What a day I had yesterday, 9/27/2020. It started off kind of early and I organized my books according to authors and theme's too. I did a few chores around the apartment and I headed to the grocery store in search of canned pumpkin. I saw a recipe last week and I told the leasing office I would bring them in some when I baked it. Who would have ever thought there was a shortage on canned pumpkin of all things? Publix did not get any in for a few weeks and a Kroger I went to on Saturday had none at all. I sensed to go to a particular Kroger's and off I went in search of canned pumpkin. I was so happy when I found it there and I was then able to get the rest of the ingredients I needed to make Pumpkin Crumb Cake with Caramel Sauce drizzled on top. I did a little bit more shopping and I paid for my groceries. I get to my car and I put the key in the ignition and all I hear is a tick, tick sound and the electric still worked in the car. I guessed it was a battery that needed to be jumped. Well, I selected the wrong choice to reach out to for help. I called my auto insurance because I thought I had roadside assistance. All they did was file an incident report for me and could give me no further info. I was told that someone would call me back to further assist. I never received a call at all and when I called them back I was told all they do is submit claims and customer service was closed. I found out today that I do have roadside assistance but only to the degree that they will reimburse you up to a certain amount. They do not send out someone to assist you that is.
I then remembered I have on my car warranty roadside assistance so I made that phone call. I waited about 40 minutes and they sent someone to jump start my battery. It started up real quick so I thought the battery was just fine. I drove it out on the road for about 45 minutes before I came home. Parked the car and I rested and made a salad for dinner. I felt a nudge to go and try my car and take my things to go walking. Good think I followed that nudge. It started to make a slight tick noise when I put the key in the ignition and then it turned on. I knew to go to a local auto parts store to have the battery checked. When I arrived there and tuned off the car I tried starting it up again. Nothing, no battery power starting the car. I purchased a new battery and they installed it for me. I found out the battery was the factory installed one and the tech told me they usually do not last as long as that battery lasted Praise God. I went walking at the park. I finishes up my walk just as the sun was about to set for the day. I prayed in tongues while I walked. As I was heading out on the trail just before turning around to walk back I sensed to go so far and then look between the trees at the river. I saw 1 deer on the other side of the river and it just looked at me .I captured a picture of it and I knew it would be ok with not heading to Nashville to go see Pastor Rod Parsley.
Sure enough, I was listening to the replay of the tent revival meeting from last night and for some reason he was not able to make it there. They video taped a message from him that they played for the people. Yielding is important it really is. It was as though I was being kept from travelling to downtown for some reason yesterday evening. The night before I went to Summerfest for Jesus to experience "Selah" worshiping in a concert. It was beautiful. I captured a few short video clips I will share with you. It was almost near the end and someone it tapping me on the shoulder. It was my friend and her husband and so we conversed for a bit too. We see Pastor Jackson walking by us and I felt led to thank him for blessing us and how I am blessed on Saturday's with this. He got a smile on his face. It is good to bless those with encouraging/affirming words when you are blessed by them or something they are doing that blesses you. I started off the day early on Saturday I was at the post office by 8:00AM to put a letter in the mail. I already composed the letter on paper so I had to type it and then print it on Fall themed stationary all before I could go to the post office.
I shared with a friend my day yesterday evening and it ended up being not just a phone call but ministry time Praise God. That is what sharing is all about. I felt led at one point to begin to pray for them and I did just that. Really, when you think about it ministry is sharing with others right? So then just do it. Do not wait for a platform, conference or a church service just reach out as Holy Spirit shows you and that is ministry. Get it, good.
I was in a cooking/baking type of mode today. A few weeks ago when I was in Franklin at a Tuesday Morning store I found a cook book with recipes when using your electric air fryer. I found a recipe for a boneless pork loin roast. I made it this evening along with my sauerkraut recipe. I do not rinse off sauerkraut for this one. I sauté chopped onion, bacon pieces and a little grated carrot. I then add the sauerkraut and a little bit of brown sugar to cut the tart/salty flavor of the sauerkraut. I then made home made dumplings from a recipe in my Croatian cookbook. I then rounded off the day with baking the Pumpkin Crumb Cake. I would probably make that recipe again. I already cut off a piece and brought some to one of my neighbors. I told another neighbor about it and she said she would try it but her husband did not like pumpkin. She suggested when I make it that she would come over and have a piece of it at my apartment. Do you like pumpkin? I also steamed some of the Amish fresh yellow and zucchini squash I had.
