I have been finding lots of things as I am sorting through pictures. This bed & breakfast is located in Springfield, Missouri. I thought back then that it was a novel idea and I still think this concept is great for a church venture. Yes, the original church that was connected to this venue (when I visited) was Cornerstone Church, the founding pastors were Jess & Paula Gibson. That was the name of the church when I visited. It is now called Venture Church with a different set of pastors. The concept is such a novel idea. The church is connected to this venue and you book your reservations through them. I called the info phone number recently and it goes to the church.
I think churches should do this more often, purchase a bed and breakfast and manage it. What a great concept for churches that host conferences at their church on a regular basis. Why not offer your attendees an alternative to staying at a hotel? I know I would prefer a bed & breakfast, there is more charm, warmth and unique architectural details in this type of facility. That would be an extra way of extending hospitality to your visitors right. Oh someone else out there should take on this adventure. If I was in a position to do that and I had a church just think of the possibilities and opportunities to bless others. Now, that would definitely be classified as marketplace ministry right? If I am not mistaken the church is located within proximity of this venue, don't quote me on that ok.
Here is a postcard from when I was there years ago along with a few picture I also took with my camera. The top picture was in the lobby and the center row of pictures were of the room I stayed in. See the rosette picture top row to the right? That rosette is what you saw when you looked up, it was a part of the canopy of the bed. Then of course, the bottom image is the post card one grouping the front of the post card, the other the back of the post card.
