I figure I will have time to rest when I retire in a few years. I chose to bake so I can bring blessings into work and some for me to bless others also. That is right I baked 2 items tonight. First on the list was York Sensational Brownies. I had York peppermint patties I bought to bake with. I found this recipe I cut out that came from a coupon flyer they used to put in the Sunday edition of the newspaper ad section. By looking at the coupon expiration dates, that was somewhere around January 1993. I cut out the recipe back then but never made them until today, 29 years later, imagine that. I tweaked it a bit though. I did not have 24 pieces of the candy because I took some of them into work for the snack drawer I created for my co-workers. I had to go to Kroger's to get a few items and as I sat in my car before going into the store, I asked Holy Spirit to set up connections for me in the store. He was faithful once again. I trust you are not surprised by that.
So, instead of making the recipe for the brownie portion since I had half the amount of candy needed, I improvised. I purchased Ghirardelli brownie mix. This was my plan, prepare the mix and pour half of the batter in the pan then press into the batter snack sized York peppermint patties and then top it off with the rest of the batter. I think they turned out ok. I ran into a man that was on the phone getting particular ingredients the person was telling him to get while at the store. I am about to get in line, and I noticed him in a line, so I got behind him. I then asked him if he got all the ingredients on the list he needed. That was just the opening to our brief conversation while in the checkout line. Come to find out he was getting things to prepare for a visit with his parents coming to visit them. I heard him when he was on the phone, and he needed to get certain items at the store. He checks out then I check out and low and behold, he is parked 2 cars away from my car. I struck up a conversation again with this younger in aged man. I said he must really like his parents since he was out getting things, they liked I think I said something like you must have had amazing parents that he showed much care in shopping with them in mind. He responded that he had amazing parents. I told him to enjoy the visit. On the way into the store was a couple with their young toddler in the shopping cart. The dad told the little one to wave Hi to me and he did. When you love Jesus, you spread Jesus wherever you go.
I bought a few weeks ago a Nestle Toll House mix named "Kitchen Sink Morsels & More". I bought it because I liked the easy recipe on the back of the package. Think of the mix combination of semi-sweet morsels, butter caramel pieces & pretzel sticks. The recipe I baked was Kitchen Sink Blondies. Easy recipe and I am glad I did not sit down and just rest this afternoon. You know for some odd reason there is an anointing on things I bake and bless others with. Before I baked, I finished decorating the picture windows with holiday stick on's and I also turned on my outside lights. I love the shade of green the flood light is.
All is well and God is good all the time. Even when the enemy tries to throw you off guard because there are always much stronger angels of God to lift you up higher for the higher purpose in your very life. So, when the enemy tries to come at you remember to lift up Jesus even higher and go out and minister to others with the love of God. Light always penetrates the darkness, it truly does. Rest in peace this very night and remind yourself that Jesus is Lord over all things. Have to go now to plate up my desserts to have them ready for tomorrow. I wonder if there is a lovely Christmas movie, I can watch this evening while relaxing, since my work is done for today.
