You may wonder what this picture is and what is the story behind it. Well, you should know by now, if you have read any of my blogs that there is a story behind the picture. The items on the tray are brownies that I decorated for a dear family member that recently turned 16. You know, turning 16 in a young girls eyes is a really big deal. I remember when I turned 16 such sweet memories.
More than you care to realize there are people observing your life and wanting to know if you really do walk the Christian walk or is it just talk and you live your life totally different when no one is around you. I would like to think that if you state you are a Christian that you really are one and you live your life as though you really do follow Christ and He can be seen by others through you.
Apparently, I am told that I tend to express (when I really like something or what you are sharing with me touches me) and I exclaim something to this effect, "That's beautiful" or "Oh that's beautiful." Those are the words that just flow from my heart out of my mouth to express my sincere liking of something. Well guess what? A young lady that is a family member must have liked that saying enough so that she and all of her friends have coined that phrase and say it all the time now. I was blessed to meet these friends and as I was being introduced to them I noticed the birthday girl was whispering something to each one of them before they were introduced to me. I said hey, what are you telling these people? I was told she was letting them know I was the "beautiful" lady/woman.
These young ladies all attend a Christian school and I was so incredibly blessed as I was able to converse with them at the birthday celebration. It was so refreshing to me to be around the generation that God is using for His movement of God. I shared with them and encouraged one to write if that is their talent that God gave them and another to paint/art if that is their talent from God. You see, God places the gifting inside of you and it is your job to develop it and then use it for His glory and to reach others through your gift. The picture that has to yet be painted will come through you or the book that has the information to share with others of what the Lord is and has done in your life still needs to be written. You know we will all be held accountable to God one day with what we either did or did not do with the talents He gave to us.
I then learned something from talking with another friend of the guest of honor. It impressed me so much so that I now ask God to give me an opportunity to share with His people as I start out my day. She shared with me that she was at a McDonald's and her Grandpa led someone to Jesus right there. That he asks God daily to give him opportunities to share Jesus with others. I then felt a Holy Spirit nudge to share with her that she needs to look a step further...she was there to see her Grandpa share Jesus with another and she did not complain and say I want to go now she let the ministry happen. I went on to share with her that she will now be a part of the connection with that person giving their heart to Jesus. Took it a step further...when they then lead someone to Jesus and so forth that will now be a part of her account in heaven all stemming from the initial leading of one to the Lord and she will meet them all one day in heaven. People, what really counts is how you live your life. Others really do observe your lifestyle and daily walk. Are you a phony Christian by stating it with just words or are you a genuine Christian that lives the life of a genuine Christian? Your words can either edify the body of Christ or tear them down which do you choose to speak today?
