Thank You For Putting The Estee Lauder Advertisement On My Blog Today

When I went to this site this morning and saw the Estee Lauder gift with purchase advertisement I was most pleased and surprised. I use to work for them many years ago. I sent a personal thank you note to Mrs. Lauder for blessing the Beauty Advisors for one whole week. If my memory serves me correctly we were given a gift each day. I think I still have the cross pen that had Estee Lauder etched on it. I don't use it because it probably needs a new ink cartridge. I am going to enclose both the letter that was given to us as a Beauty Advisor from Mrs. Lauder and then the personal note she sent to me.

The reason I am talking about this today is because the art of writing a hand written personal thank you note seems to be dying. With all of our technology today everyone is text messaging or emailing and that personal connection seems to be getting lost in the shuffle. A hand written note is really the same as sending an email just that it takes more effort. In writing a person you have to think about the type of note card to be used and that is where your personality can come forth. One of my favorite things to shop for are note cards or stationery. I am very good with writing hand written notes to my clients. I am always looking for good quality paper the card is on along with the envelope that goes with it. Then you can add to the expression of your thanks or thoughts with putting some sort of seal on the back of the envelope. Try it you will be glad that you did and the recipient will also like receiving it because you took the time to hand write them a note. Who doesn't like to get something pleasant in the mail? I also search out nice stamps at the post office. If I can find the right ones I like to coordinate the postage stamp with what is sent. That is getting harder and harder to do because when I find a stamp that works and you go back to get more they are usually hard to get. I always tell the post office they need to print the stamps that people want to use because some people (like myself) use them as an accessory to the envelope being sent (not for bulk mailing or things of that nature.) Some of my favorite postage stamps have been the Hawaii, lighthouses, and I always like the floral stamps.

The letter sent to the Beauty Advisors from Mrs. Estee Lauder:

Dear Beauty Advisor,

Congratulations to ______________ and May Co.'s Management team for establishing Beauty Advisor Week and recognizing all that you do. I want to add my gratitude to you as well.
Today we celebrate your skill, intelligence, beauty and dedication in servicing customers. We honor you for bringing pleasure and beauty to your loyal followers.
This week is devoted to you, the Beauty Advisor!
Warm Regards,
Her signature was at the close of the letter.

After receiving the daily gifts of appreciation I felt compelled to send her a personal thank you note. This is when I went to a fine stationery store and purchased good quality note cards to send it on. I remember I must have went through a few and did not send them because it may have not looked just like I wanted it to look with my writing. I sent the note of thanks because it touched my heart that I was celebrated along with the others. I never dreamed that I would get a reply from my simple note of thanks.

One day I went to the mail and to my pleasant surprise there was a letter for me from Mrs. Estee Lauder on her personal stationery, this is what it stated:

Dear Kimberly,
As we go on in life, we understand that heartfelt thanks are among the most priceless gifts we can receive. Your beautiful letter of appreciation was very touching, and I do thank you.
I hope that you continue to shine and grow both personally and professionally at Estee Lauder.
But this is not only my hope. It is my belief.

her personal signature

The words that were in bold print in the note are :I do thank you; hope; and it is my belief.
I challenge and encourage you to pick up a pen today and write someone a heartfelt thank you note. Also, it is an added touch if you can get a pen to write with that coordinates with the card, envelope, etc. Have fun with this. A note of encouragement can come to someones door the very day that they needed a word of encouragement. Think of it like this, you may not be able to see them in person to share your smile with them but you can do it through the words written in your note.
