One of my children saw a movie trailer for the movie, "Wonka" and treated us to an early afternoon movie @ a local theatre on Christmas Day while dinner was cooking in the oven. We had a delightful start to the day with communion and prayer. I was pleasantly surprised how good this movie actually was and, in the end, the good people win out. People need to see things like this movie to lift your spirits and see that good people truly do triumph, they really do. Go see it and explore the creativity on screen through this movie. So many people feel like we felt that this movie is so much better than the original Wonka movie made years ago.
I just kept thinking to myself what a delight this is, what a delight this is. Yes, dreams given do come true. Follow the dreams in your heart and never give up on seeing them come true okay. I had brisket of beef slowly cooking in the oven while @ the movie. The whole house had the wonderful scent of brisket cooking in the oven. Then I steamed some fresh broccoli and squeezed fresh lemon on it while it was steaming. Sliced raw carrots and after pulling the beef out of the roasting pan I then placed in the natural juice the carrots to cook. You really have to make mashed potatoes using a pressure cooker instead of boiling on the stove top. There just is no comparison of flavors cooking this way and then don't just mash the potatoes but put them through a food mill and you will have no lumps in the mashed potatoes whatsoever. We made a cucumber, tomato & onion vinaigrette salad and Publix potato rolls heated in the oven. This year instead of serving the sliced brisket and placing in the natural juice I made as a request by one of my children. To actually make brown gravy using the Gravy Master recipe on the bottle. It turned out lovely. Oh, I did slice some beef to go in the refrigerator in case someone wanted to make a beef slider type of sandwich with the potato rolls.
It is good to spend Christmas with family, especially if a dear loved one went to be with Jesus, and you can't help remembering they were with you meaning being alive this time last year. Oh, you know what I did this year. I pulled out my mother's gift-wrapping container and used one of her sets of scissors and actually wrapped presents with her paper and ribbons also. I put on each card a little memo letting them know a bit of her was with them this year as I wrapped their presents with her wrappings. Isn't that a clever Holy Spirit idea. He is so creative, and I forever love His nudges, I truly do.
Blessings of joy and great joy with you today.
