I got brave enough to actually carry the wooden cross on this particular cross walk our church conducted. I participated in a few of these cross walks. We would take turns carrying the cross while walking/praying in surrounding cities. The church would designate a date and particular surrounding city in which we were conducting these prayer/cross walks. I enjoyed participating in these type of events. I attended a very active church that was active in the community. The Senior Pastor is walking beside me with other fellow church members also walking. My favorite one by far was when we conducted one in Oberlin, OH and we actually stopped at the grave site of Charles Finney. I still have this top I am wearing today. It so reminds me of the boho look doesn't it. This top has to be over 10 years old I would reckon so.
Side note, I was a very curious woman back then and I would seek out adventures in the local area. One day I found myself at the actual church where Charles Finney used to preach at. I stood behind the pulpit and I was shown his picture that hangs in the area that leads to the area behind the altar area. It is true when they say he had the pulpit at a level in which when he preached he could look into the eyes/souls of the people and he did what some preachers tend to not do so much of today. He called out sin as sin and the people repented. I think the church should go back to a bit of this holy boldness and not tolerate sin but call it what it is SIN. With contrite hearts that are full of repentance the world would then see revival fires burn brightly once again. Love the sinner but do not tolerate the sin. Our God is a loving and just God. Yes He is and that is a biblical truth. You know it is best to deal with sin on our own then having it be exposed because darkness cannot stand forth in the light. Repent and deal with it and then move forward to all that God has called you to do in your very lifetime. Do not be silly and let sin hold you back from becoming everything God wants for your very life ok.
