I was in prayer time with Jesus just now and He showed me something I am going to share with you now. He brought me back in my minds image to when I would go to the beach by Lake Erie. As I would look out upon the water you could only see so far out and then it was like there was a horizon out there and your mind had to kind of imagine beyond the horizon. Appearing as the end of the body of water there was Canada. I remember on a clear day if you looked in a certain direction you could see Cedar Point or even Kelly's Island out there.
I am spending away time lately with Jesus. Others may see it as reckless in the respect that you need to get out there amongst the brethren. That there may be danger in being by yourself too much. I may agree with that in certain situations but when your time is being spent with Jesus it is learning time in your life. These are the times I have found throughout my life that I am the student and He is the teacher with less distractions around you to pull you away from Him teaching you. By nature I am very much so a people person but at the same time I am also a contemplator if that makes sense. Example, just today I went walking and this morning I thought to myself how did the name of the apartment complex where I reside come up with their name. I stopped and inquired near the end of my walk and got an explanation and oddly enough it deals with water in one respect in their name. Very interesting isn't that? No question is impertinent and Holy Spirit caused me to wonder just this morning and now I find myself writing about water.
So He shows me the image of the body of water and then explains to me many will go into the water and get their feet wet close to the beach/shoreline. Some may venture out to swim to maybe a light house or pier or something of that nature. The further out you go then less will go that distance. If you go all the way out to the horizon portion more than likely there are very few if any at all. It is Him taking you on that journey and I have found He is most faithful when He takes me out on a journey to faithfully bring me back safely also. When you go out that deep in trusting Him in your life there really are less and less distractions to cause you to pause on your walk with Him. Make sense to you yet?
He knew in the midst of this teaching lesson that I asked Him if I could move out of this region that I need to be by a body of water. I am drawn to the peace and fury at times when a storm comes in by a large body of water, meaning a lake, a great lake at that. I actually sought out moving to a location last year that was by not a great lake but by a lake and nothing came through for me because I was to live by the very body of water that flows through the name of the residence were I reside.
Do you ever feel like a change in atmosphere when you walk into a room? Meaning you can sense that you are there with a purpose to fulfill and regardless of what others think you go there to get the job done. If you are a feeler, boy you can really feel the atmosphere change in the room. If you are tough and a fighter you will not back down and leave the atmosphere. You will stay and trudge through to accomplish the work you have been given to do and keep your focus on the task at hand. I have found that the best gift to give those that may oppose you or what you beleive in faith in Jesus is to bless them. Listen to their hearts desires and then bless them with gifts. I love when Holy Spirit gives me LOVE battleplans like that don't you.
I used to be a perfectionist in this respect. When the children were young and I vacuumed the carpeting I liked to leave neat vacuum pattern marks in the carpeting. It looked so fresh and clean and I knew that room was vacuumed. Then with having children you know that the perfectionist mark of vacuuming the rug was not going to last long right. When I attended CNC I was taught the difference of perfectionism and doing somethng unto the Lord in the spirit of excellence. Do a job unto the Lord in excellence. I still recall when I would see Pastor Tina in the restroom she was not so elevated in her life to not clean the sink area or faucets after using them. Leaving it in a state of excellence for the next person to use. I picked up that good habit from her. Thank you Pastor Tina. That church truly did do things in excellence for Jesus.
Perfection according to the dictionary states "the condition, state or quality of being free or as free as possible from flaws or defects."
Excellence: "The quality or being outstanding or extremely good, an outstanding feature or quality, virtue. Achieving excellence is never easy to do."
I tend to argue a bit against a portion of the definition for excellence. It is easy to do when you are doing it for the right reason being do unto the Lord with excellence. He did that very thing for us when He died on the cross so we could live with Him for all eternity in heaven. He makes it so easy to live like this because He already went to the cross for us and the work was completed in Him. How could our being not sing unto Him thanksgiving and want to share an excellent way of living in Him through you in your very life. As you grow with Him the best and safest place to be is with Him. Let Him guide you and yes, call you into the very deep with Him. He safely brings you out there and safely brings you back in to the shore when the lessons have been taught to you by only the finest teacher there is. Do not be afraid to go a little deeper in Jesus because way out there, there really are less distractions and more alone time with Him. He is faithful and will never let you down. Yes, it can get a bit lonely at times but there is reason and purpose. For if you were always in a busy mode of operation how could you take the time to go way out deep and be filled with His presence?
Please know I love these moments with Him I even get tears while I am in these moments. He is a great teacher and He is the one that through Holy Spirit sets up expereinces in your very life if you are open to them to be used as a teaching lesson.
Lesson learned today ... when I wanted to run again away from where I am now to be drawn to a body of water no need to because I am in one respect living on a body of water. Isn't that beautiful.
