You Just Never Know Who You Will Meet In The Course Of A Day. I Met A Former Missionary That Shared How They Read Scriptures Daily While Being Missionaries.

You just never know who will come across your path in the course of the day. I asked for prayer because I was feeling spiritually depleted/drained in my walk. Do not allow others to drain what God has placed inside of you. It may be in the form of their words or actions or their lack of belief in what your faith level of belief is. If you are around someone long enough their thoughts can tend to deplete you if that makes sense. That is why it is important to stay in the word of God and not try to succumb to their ideologies or their strong-willed opinions.
When you walk with the Lord your life at times can tend to be lonely. That is not mentioned with a bad connotation attached to it. It just means that at times you will feel like you are standing alone sort of like John The Baptist who cried out in the wilderness warning people to prepare yourself for the coming of Jesus. He was probably a pioneer in the sense that what he shared with others was not the popular message of his time but regardless he spoke forth what he was called to do with his life. Prepare ye the way of the Lord. He did it and I am sure he was probably mocked at times, and not so much his immediate family but other family members/friends probably looked at him and thought who does he think he is preaching forth those words. Do you ever feel like that in your walk with the Lord? You know, immediate or close family is more than likely to be the biggest critics of you. Remember, Jesus was not able to create miracles as easily when He was amongst those that knew Him as the son of Joseph. The one's that are most familiar with you can tend to be the very one's that do not have the faith level that you have and can not believe in what God gives you the faith to believe in. Love your family to the best of your ability but also keep your distance from the nay sayers and the one's that tend to cause you to not operate in fullness of what God has called you to be and do. When God gives you the vision to remove mountains from your very life and the knowledge of how to do it. Stick with that and follow through with the call of God on your life and let the non-believers or lack of faith in what you are called to do believers fall to the wayside. Remember, stay surrounded by those that encourage you and lift you up in your walk and steer clear of the negative speakers/thinkers that can tend to bring you down or make you feel depleted when you are around them. You know what I mean right? When you are around certain people you just feel so alive in their presence. Conversation does not lack but just seems to go on and on and on (in a good sense I mean.) When you leave their presence you feel lifted up. On the flip side when you are around others that do not have this connection with you you tend to feel drained or depleted and like there is no hope after you have a conversation with them. Those are the one's I am referring to, keep limited visits with them.
Are you ever around people that all they do is monopolize the conversation and no matter what you are talking about it always seems to go back to them talking about their life and it is all about them? You begin to share about your life and it makes you feel as what you are doing is so non-important because they are so wrapped up in what they have to say about them self. They will actually cut you off when you hit on a subject that they do not want to talk about. They may ask questions out of being polite but do they really want to hear what you have to say. More than likely, they do not and that is why they cut you short on what you have to say. Keep limited visits with them too. You are called to such greatness in your life so why waste precious moments with those that suck the positive influence out of your spirit does that make sense? We are all born into families and have circles of friends but that does not mean we have to saturate ourselves with negativity or strong and opinionated views that are contrary to your belief. Stand firm in the word of God and do not let them shadow what God has done in your life or steal from you the very dreams that God has given to you about what you are about to do in your life. These type of people can tend to be dream deflators. If you are around them long enough they will cause you to doubt that God ever did speak those things to your heart. That is why it is also very important to really trust who you share certain things with when it comes to that. Remember in the bible the scripture verse that warns you to not cast your pearls before swine? That s so true. When one is a new believer in Christ and He begins to show them things or starts speaking to their heart you are just like a child that gets a new toy. You want to show it and share it with everyone because you are so excited about this new toy. Your joy, you want to seem to share with everyone you come in contact with.
I learned the hard way by experience to not do this with the thing's Jesus and Holy Spirit share with you. There are those out there that once you share it with that child like faith you have they are the doubters. Those are the one's that make you feel like you did not hear from God and when you leave their presence their lack of faith causes you to then doubt if you did hear form God. I learned that I silently seek Holy Spirit's direction as to how much to share with a person. You can be carrying on a conversation and just ask Him you will get either the yes it is fine to share with them, peace in your spirit or you will get the warning no in your spirit to not share with them.
This just happened to me yesterday. The former missionary came to my place of employment and we began to share and it was the green light from Holy Spirit to continue on and it was so refreshing to exchange testimonies with each other. When you share what God is doing and has done in your life with others it sort of energizes you, does that make sense? Shortly after this person left another person came in and I got the red light to not continue on with the line of conversation with another person. They were trying to push their beliefs on doctrine that was not a check in my spirit from Holy Spirit. When you begin to share rhema thoughts with what Holy Spirit has shown you and you know them to be tried and true from experience with them and they try to refute it. Do not allow others to cheapen the treasured thoughts and times you shared with Holy Spirit. Those times come from intimacy with Holy Spirit. I was silently rebuking the word this person was trying to force on me and to change what I know to be true. I then had to tend to something else and when I broke away from that conversation I then went and asked Holy Spirit to bring others in so as to not have to carry on that conversation further. I found that they had left the establishment and I never had to continue on in that line of talking. God is so faithful but you also have a part to play in this too. If you have ever been healed by God then why would you let someone talk to you in a negative manner when it comes to the subject of healing. You would not because you personally experienced the healing power of God through Jesus, the healer right? Guard your heart from those that will try to come into your life and steer you away from the truth.
Onto what the missionary taught me about reading the bible daily. You will have to probably set aside about a half hour or so to do this. They said when you follow this you will read through the bible two times in the course of a year. They make a bookmark with 6 colored ribbons attached to it. You place the ribbons into the 6 sections of the bible from where you will be reading from daily. This is how it works and the 6 sections you will place the ribbons in: from Gen-Job 2 chapters a day; Psalm 1 a day; Proverbs 1 a day; Ecc.-Mal 1 a day; Gospels 1 a day; Acts-Rev 1 a day. They also mentioned that the ribbons don't cross each other when you place them in your bible. They also mentioned that it is amazing with each daily reading of the word of God because you are getting life from all sections of the bible daily.
Bible Reading Ribbon Bookmark
The plastic part that hold the ribbons in place is made from a piece cut from a plactic milk container.
