Well, It Is Pentecost Sunday. What Do You Think I Am Going To Write About Today? Being Filled With The Holy Spirit.

There was a mighty move of God today at our church service. Pastor preached on the list of people that the bible states need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Let me share that list with you today, may I?

1.) Spiritual leaders: pastor's and those in charge of ministries

2.) People who are highly blessed and highly favored, financially blessed people.
      Even Mary, the mother of Jesus, was in the upper room the day of Pentecost.

3.) Devout Christians, It is the gift of the Holy Spirit to pray for you through you.

4.) Healed, delivered, and baptized in water  people.

5.) People that are scholars in scripture and know the bible; zealous and have zeal.
      Read 1 Corinthians 14:2 it is a whole chapter about praying in tongues.
      1 Corinthians 14:39 states "do not forbid to speak in tongues."

6.) Generous, prayerful people. The example of Cornelius in the bible.

7.) Long standing religious people and those that have been walking with God for a long time.
      Acts 19:2 states that Jesus said these signs will follow you will speak with other tongues.

1Corinthians 14: 1-6 states:
"Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially the gift of speaking what God has revealed. When a person speaks in another language, he doesn't speak to people but to God. No one understands him. His spirit is speaking mysteries. But when a person speaks what God has revealed, he speaks to people to help them grow, to encourage them, and to comfort them. When a person speaks in another language, he helps himself grow. But when a person speaks what God has revealed, he helps the church grow. I wish that all of you could speak in other languages, but especially that you could speak what God has revealed. The person who speaks what God has revealed is more important than the person who speaks in other languages. This is true unless he can interpret what he says to help the church grow. Brothers and sisters, it wouldn't do you any good if I came to you speaking in other languages, unless I explained revelation, knowledge, prophecy, or doctrine to you."
In my bible I have notes I jotted down next to this scripture stating that it refers to the gift of tongues, praying in tongues, praying the perfect will of God.
1 Corinthians 14: 39 states: "So, brothers and sisters, desire to speak what God has revealed, and don't keep anyone from speaking in other languages. Everything must be done in a proper and orderly way."
In Acts 10: 31 states: "Cornelius, God has heard your prayer and has remembered your gifts to the poor."
I remember this, years ago I was in a mainline religion. This religion did not teach about praying in the spirit or things of that nature. They were ahead in one aspect though. They held monthly healing services after the main service and if you had prayer concerns you would go up on the altar after the service and prayer teams would pray with you. This woman would at times sign a song and I asked her once what were the words she was singing they were so beautiful and she gently explained it to me about praying in the spirit. I did not even know that the words were that she would sing as she would pray for me but it was so beautiful. Holy Spirit taught me the majority of what I was learning at that time in my life. Let me share with you the day I was filled with the Holy Spirit right in a room in my home without anyone praying over me at all. It was my time in God's time to be filled with the Holy Spirit. I cannot promise you He will fill you like He filled me but what He began to reveal to me was powerful in my life at that time in my life. I was journaling back then and let me share that experience with you OK.
As I am looking at one of my journals I can trace it back to January, 1996 when I was filled with the Holy Spirit. This is an excerpt or two of what I wrote that day. " On Monday, the feast of the baptism of Jesus Christ, my newness of life began...This was the 1st of the bleeps to come to me ( this is the only way to describe it, I'm awake and a flash of a picture comes into my mind it is ever so clear and vivid to me-as in details)...
As the day progresses I'm beginning to pray in tongues. I'm guided to go to my heart and hear and speak the words (not loud and shouting-I'm doing it with a gentle tone) after the words come and I speak them-there's always a pause and in English I'm given an explanation of what was spoken on my lips. Thank you Holy Spirit-thank you...since you and your presence have come into my life I've experienced some of the most beautiful things-how through your prompting my faith grows each day-I love you I praise you and above all honor you. Thank you once again. My life sees so much beauty when I look at life through the eyes of prayer. In the middle of total caious a calmness and peace comes through."
If you knew me you would probably not even know when I was praying in the spirit. I do this mainly silently. Not always but at times when I need direction I do ask for Holy Spirit interpretation and He gives it to me. Now know this, you may be praying about something and the interpretation may be something of even greater value to you than just a simple answer to your prayer question to Him. Remember this for this is of valuable information to you. The enemy cannot understand or even like to be around one that is praying in the spirit so even if you get an interpretation that you may speak or write it out in English, because he has no knowledge or understanding of this then do not be afraid to write it down or speak out the interpretation for he is not able to understand it because it is God speaking His prayer through you. Holy Spirit revealed that to me a long time ago because he searched my heart and knew of my concern of  what if I spoke it out the enemy would know what He revealed to me in prayer. He cannot understand it because he is not allowed to have that knowledge. God really does take care of His people doesn't He.
Do not be afraid of Holy Spirit, He is so gentle and so willing and just waiting to share with you what He can only share if you allow Him to. This is not some kind of weird thing that some think it may be, it is a deeper intimacy with the one that created you and wants to bless you with wisdom beyond your own human concept of wisdom. Do not be a scoffer or mocker of those that pray in the spirit for would you mock God? If you would not mock God your creator then why would you mock His prayer flowing through another. Just something to think about.
