I had a dream and when I woke from the dream while it was fresh in my mind/memory I sought the Lord. I let Holy Spirit pray through and with me as I prayed about the dream. That was awesome, He hand fed me the very words to pray in reference to this dream. You do not always have to pray a prayer from your own heart in times when you know you need to pray a prayer and not sure of the exact words to pray then ask Holy Spirit to hand feed you the words, He will and He is so faithful. He truly is, thank you Holy Spirit I love you and am in awe of your knowledge, creativity and love. I did not pray in the spirit, He gave me the very words to pray in my mind in English. I can share this much with you, the title of this writing is what I kept hearing repeatedly at the end of my prayer, "Darkness must flee."
Is there darkness in your life or is it hovering over you? Maybe darkness is around you in the form of others that want to saturate you with their darkness. Do not accept that garbage and it will flee from you. I have recently had the occasion to be around people that for whatever reason seem to be consumed in darkness. Not sure if it is their circumstances in life or darkness in their homes or if they are surrounded by darkness and negativity? All I know is when they bring this darkness around me it has to flee in the name of Jesus. For darkness cannot exist in the presence of the light and love of Jesus. Darkness, I have learned, will try to steal your joy. Remember this, the joy of the Lord is your strength you have dominion over darkness and the powers that darkness tries to dump on you. You are more than a conqueror through Jesus and greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. You can do all things through Christ Jesus that strengthens you and every tongue that rises up against you will be conquered/condemned by God. When you look at it in that perspective why would you want to knowingly let darkness penetrate your life and the lives of your family?
Stand up and be the woman or man of God that you have been created to be and do not wimp out and let darkness take control.
I have found that when darkness is around you, remove yourself from the darkness at times and regroup. If it means walking away into another room do it. If it means going into a quiet area and praying against it to silence it then do it. If it means to speak with a tone to address it then do it. Just because you speak in a tone does not mean it has to be some loud, arrogant tone. If you know who you really are in Jesus and the power and authority you have in Him in your life the enemy knows exactly who you are and the power that lives inside of you. It has to bow at the name of Jesus and the authority released in you through His presence with His name and you will be amazed at how the enemy has to be silenced with the words you speak to silence him and it can even be done with a smile on your face, Imagine that!!!
Darkness knows when authority walks in the room or atmosphere. You will find that darkness will rear it's ugly head, so to speak, and all you have to do is take spiritual authority and it has to shut up or flee or do both. For too long Christians have been not using their true authority given to them to silence the enemy for they think the enemy is some big, bad thing. I once wrote about what Holy Spirit showed me what the extent of the enemy is. Think of a very tiny pea on the sidewalk, you probably can not see it from the distance right. You will notice it more clearly when you are just about to walk in front of it lying on the ground. A pea does not have a strong outer shell once it has been processed and canned as a vegetable right? That is the extent of the strength of the enemy, very weak. So, lets take it a step further now. When you see that pea lying on the ground it takes no effort at all that needs to be exerted to step on it and squash it right? Then just do it. Do not make out the enemy to be bigger, grander in size than he really is. So very small and you have the authority to step on it with hardly any force at all and it is crushed. Don't cower back now when this is the greatest time to shine your light for Jesus and darkness will flee. Do not hide your light under a bushel basket but act like you should act if Jesus is inside of you and you know the authority that also comes with that. Place your light on a hill for that is where your help comes from the Lord and shine for all the territory to see that the Lord has given to you. Shine, Shine, Shine
One more final thought, I did not just tell darkness to flee in these situations. I also prayed for these individuals that the darkness flees in their lives and that the light of Jesus shines in them. You know, Jesus died on the cross for all of us so none should perish in hell for all eternity. Just because darkness is around someone does not mean that you should not pray for them to be set free and to have and know a true relationship with Jesus. Pray that their household and family receive Jesus into their hearts and that their destinies will be fulfilled in their very lives and most importantly, they will spend eternity in heaven. That step is even far more important than telling darkness to flee. What good is it fleeing when it will try to return again. Take that special moment to pray on behalf of that person that their life will be changed by the touch of Jesus. Why live a life fighting darkness when you can be set free from it and then you are able to fulfill all that God has destined you to fulfill in your life. Use your spiritual authority and then pray for them to be set free and to be able to experience that new found freedom in their life, Jesus.
