Do Not Overlook Your Next Step On Your Journey As Stepping Onto A Pebble To Your Next Stepping Stone.

A very wise Pastor shared this concept with me recently, I liked how it sounded and then when I further contemplated about it, it bore witness with my spirit. We always think that the next portion of our spiritual journey is to take a big leap or bound but did you ever stop and think about this thought...your next step in faith may just be a pebble that you need to advance to in order to put you in direct line for the next stepping stone in your life. The definition of pebble is a small stone worn smooth, round by erosion. The definition of stone is a small piece of rock. We so easily tend to discount the pebble steps in our lives because we want to get directly to the stepping stone platform that allows us balance in our lives. The next time you have a decision to make seek Holy Spirit to specifically ask Him if this next portion is a pebble or stepping stone in your life.
Do not discount a small step in faith because there is something special about that step in faith for it puts you in line for the big step onto the solid rock which is Jesus. His angels will direct you if you ask them to be a part of your life and that you minister together to the heirs of salvation and the saints, both new and seasoned in their faith walk. You probably have taken far more "pebble" steps in your life if you go back and think about it. We tend to remember the stepping stone markers in our lives because they are usually some sort of significant part of your life. Just the nature alone of the description of a pebble lets you know that you probably take more of these steps in faith, for it states that it is a small stone worn smooth. It is worn smooth because of being used right? The next business venture or ministry position may just be a pebble so do not discount it since it is not of some magnanimous size. You may have three choices placed before you and the world would choose number one because in their eyes it would appear to be the sure thing. Not so in the kingdom of God. Holy Spirit can place before you three options and the one that seems to be the least likely in the eyes of man will end up being the very one that God has chosen for you. Are you willing to seek Holy Spirit and trust Him and step out in faith onto the pebble? Remember it's nature is that it is small so it is not meant for you to stay standing on it forever or even for a long period of time for a pebble will not hold the weight for a long period of time like a stepping stone would do. Think about the name, stepping stone, geared to hold the weight of your destiny. Even in that concept a stepping stone is not used for one to stand on for a long period of time. It is used as the catalyst to launch you out into your next phase in your life.
Some stepping stones are very plain and practical in the nature of how they were created. Then there are beautiful and ornate stepping stones. Both have the same purpose to get you to the next step. The difference being, that one is just created for the very purpose no frills just step on it and advance. The ornate stepping stone is created for one to view and it's beauty may be the very thing that causes you to be drawn to it. The beauty does not add to the purpose of its creation does it? Keep seeking Holy Spirit and He will direct your path. If a pebble is missed as an opportunity in your life it can then be a stumbling block in your life. For you see, you are able to see a stepping stone before you but a pebble is much smaller in nature and if you are not paying attention that simple, little pebble can be in your way on the path to destiny but with you overlooking it it can now be something that can cause you to stumble. It is best to follow Holy Spirit direction and use the pebble in advancement then to try and out smart Him and trip on the very item that was right before you to advance.
I trust you will now think a bit differently about pebble steps in your life and the value and importance of them too.
