The Other Day I Was @ Tupelo Honey In Franklin, What Do You Think I Printed On My Bill?

I enjoyed a late afternoon lunch the other day @ Tupelo Honey in Franklin, TN. The salad with grilled organic chicken break was good except the grape tomatoes looked a little wilted and I let the server be aware of that when she presented me with the bill for the meal. I try and do this any chance I get a restaurant bill that allows me the space to print a simple message for the server. "A vote for Trump is 0 tax on tips." I did it as I left the money with the bill at my table as I exited the restaurant. I could not see the server's reaction but that is okay with me. I left the simple message for her to have and possibly share with other servers that worked at that location.

I stayed at a hotel in the vicinity for a couple of nights & one of my children came into town to visit with me since it was a sort of a celebration weekend. I attended a class in the evenings @ The Factory in Franklin and let me tell you it was the best 30.00 spent in a long time to glean the knowledge from the ministry that offered the class. Of course, I baked some cookies and brought them to enjoy the first night I was there. This in my opinion is a pure ministry that is also held accountable to its donors because they are signed up with a watchdog overseer so to speak. To let the donors know that they are not frivolously spending donation money given to the ministry. They are held accountable through ECFA. Why aren't more ministries following example to put peace of mind to those making donations to local churches or ministries.

Hey, I met a gentleman that works at the hotel, and he knows the founder of the ministry I attended the class at. I shared how I loved going each year to Prayer on the Square in Franklin & there was none this year. He shared how he was a part of it and also played the keyboards at one of these gatherings. He shared with me that he is going to work on getting it to come back in Franklin. That blessed me ever so. I was taught this years ago by a minister what to do when leaving a hotel for checkout and to bless housekeeping. I hand wrote a notecard in advance and tucked in a witnessing track along with a 10.00 bill and left it by the nightstand marked "housekeeping." Even though they did not clean our room each day they were most kind to allow me to gather a few extra towels, and hand towels, washcloths and drying mat/towels for the floor. All I printed inside the card was Thank you for your kindness. I think that is faith to write words in advance to find out that the very person taking care of your room actually showed kindness. Then there was the young lady I conversed with, and she made the popcorn, and I do not eat popcorn, but she saw my hands were full 1 day and she offered to place popcorn in a popcorn bag for me and I took that up to the room for my visiting child to enjoy.

I am having friends over today for dinner since the one friend turned 93 years old the other day and this family has opened up their home to me before and I even had a Thanksgiving meal with them a couple of years ago at their home with their family. So, I am having them over today for brisket of beef that I made, on rolls, my vinegar and oil potato salad with red onions, minced dried garlic. My child likes this, so I am sending them home with some also. I purchased farmer market tomatoes and cucumber and sweet banana pepper and will make a vinaigrette type of salad also with fresh chives from my garden. I have the standard dip & chips and a cheese plate of cubed Kerrygold aged cheddar, lemon dill bellavitano cheese and cheddar garlic Amish cheeses along with crackers. I made a special dessert cake with lemon pie filling, creamy almond cake mix then graham cracker crumbs drizzle butter over it and bake it. Cool it and then take the Jello brand of cheesecake and with the mixer on medium beat with the milk and cover the top with that and then sprinkle some graham cracker crumbs on top. I also baked a few David's Cookies Pecan Meltaway and then adorned them with powdered sugar as another little side dessert. I am all set and ready to go and my child will be heading back home shortly so I have a care package made up for them to take with them.

It was good staying in Franklin, but the traffic and volume of people can be somewhat overwhelming, glad to be back home in my town where I reside. Hopefully the weather will stay nice today so my friend's husband can go and spend a little time fishing out here too.
