As I sit on my back deck there is a welcome coolness in the air this Sunday morning. I arose this morning saying inside of me praise words from my heart to Jesus about who He is to me. That then progressed to singing words of who He is to me and from there I began to sing in tongues and my eyes were shut as I still remained in bed giving honor and thanks to Him. He says to me to open my eyes and when I did, He told me angels were all over and filled my room. In that moment I got a little itty-bitty revelation to bake Oreo brownies today and share them with people. Here is the insight, my brother Ricky loved Oreo cookies and my mom would even buy a package of them just for him. He was always slender and tall in stature, and she would buy them for him. He was older and was working at the time and my sister and I were still in grade school. I was the older of us two girls by 2 years and still am silly me. I knew I was going to share with you the picture I painted for Ricky's birthday, I wonder if he can see it from heaven. I go into the living room, and I purchased a week ago fresh flowers from Trader Joe's and placed them in front of a sculpture an aunt had made when he died at a young age, his early 20's. It is a mother holding a child near her heart with 3 children at her feet. Representing the loss of Ricky but us 3 remaining children still alive. I always thought it was a beautiful piece of sculpture and I asked if I could have it when our mother went to be with Jesus, and it is on a table with a little picture my mother had of him. Low and behold, the lily was in full bloom this morning facing the sculpture and the fragrance fills the living room. I placed the flowers there the other day not realizing the lily was going to full bloom on his 70th birthday, Imagine that!
Yesterday I went and did errands and while doing them I briefly spoke with a family @ Aldi's looking at celery like I was also doing. I commented that I didn't think it looked so good and there is only me and I would never use all that up before it went bad even though I still had a little bit of celery left in the refrig. I noticed there were 3 of them shopping with a baby too. I then got this great piece of info they shared with me. They don't buy it to cook/eat with but for the bunnies outside. I never knew bunnies that live outside like celery. I shared how I put out some flavored golden raisins because my daughter's domestic bunnies like them as a treat, but the outdoor bunnies did not eat them. So, before I sat down to write I cut up a few pieces of celery and placed them on the lawn, let's see if the bunny finds them and enjoys them. I also bought hot pepper bird seed ring and a holder for it and put that by the tree. It claims birds like it, but squirrels don't. I may bunk that theory because as I came out on the deck this morning there was a squirrel eating away at it! I then also bought a little deck shepherds hook so the hummingbirds could have space to enjoy the nectar and away from my other plants so the praying mantis will not have a chance to wait in my plants to go after the hummingbirds. My oh my there was much, much hummingbird activity this morning as I am sitting outside. I added to my plant's lemon grass, and it is doing nicely along with another small grape tomato plant that is growing too. I re-arranged the placements of my gardenia tree and 2 plants, and I think I found the right place for them and what they need to grow. Let's see only time will tell. The birds are active eating at my neighbor's bird feeder this morning. All is good, all is good.
I hear and see the small planes flying in the sky already and it is not even 9AM yet. Oh, give me enough time to explore and right timing and I do get answers to my inquisitive questions I have. I was curious as to how all the people parachuting jumped off the same plane at the same time when I would see them gliding in the sky. Well, I was near the place where they seem to land at after jumping out of the plane. They got a pretty lucrative business going on here if you like to sky dive or parachute out of a plane or whatever you call it. I followed the trail yesterday. I knew the local airport was close to a store I was actually heading to at the moment. I then thought to myself, I wonder where this street leads to, and I then followed it. Sure enough, in the distance I see the people getting close to the ground and landing from their adventure. I then drove a little bit further and turned left and parked my car and watched planes landing. From what I deduce it appears to be about 3 or 4 planes take loads up and they release them it is not just 1 plane releasing all these adventure seekers into the sky at the same time. Why does this fascinate me, I have no desire to skydive but do enjoy the benefit of seeing others though.
Years ago, do you remember when Gevalia would advertise giving you a complimentary coffee maker when you purchased their coffee. They tended to advertise a lot in magazines. My mother participated in that, and she would make some really good, flavored coffees and also got a few of those coffee makers throughout the years. I think I had one of them she gave to me when she got a new one. She may have blessed me with one of the new coffee makers too. Well, oddly enough the other day there is a local grocery outlet store I stumbled upon, and I went there because they had that brand of coffee but not just regular roast type of coffee but flavored. I bought some chocolate mocha, and I am enjoying a cup of it now while writing this. A little bit ago I heard a train passing through town, do you think I should write as a marketer for people to come and enjoy country living. I planted the other day from seeds fresh dill and chives, and they are coming up nicely. Uh oh, here comes a squirrel again do you think it is coming to try the hot pepper bird seed? It jumped onto the tree where I have it located and then it thought elsewhere and just jumped back on the fence instead. A little brown colored bird just came up on the deck and perched briefly on the patio table sitting right next to me on the table leg under the table and there goes another hummingbird as I sit here. I think wildlife is enjoying the cooler temperatures this morning, do you agree.
I think I am going to make some ricotta meatballs today with hot pepper flakes in them and some of my fresh parsley I am growing. I really wish you could hear the many wonderful sounds I am hearing of nature this glorious Sunday morning. I have found the best way to make these meatballs is in the air fryer, yum yum. Pasta, sauce and meatballs are on the menu today. There go 3 geese flying by.
Do you love my at times whimsical format of writing. I jump from here there and everywhere but it all somehow comes together in the end to share the experience with you. To God be the glory. I can even hear the faint sound of a little lilac colored pinwheel rotating in the gentle breeze and the faint sound of one of the windchimes. Life is really good when you look at it through thankful eyes.
