I lived in this quaint community for many years. Blesses my heart to see this video. I have seen the lake frozen like this and then a few months later full of life. As this video opens up you will see the lagoons area. I used to go to the Main Street Beach and write in my journal there. At Christmas time they used to offer free of charge, horse drawn covered cart tours of the community. I learned a bit of the history of the community while participating in one of these tours. One of the ice cream establishments used to be the local funeral parlor. The very small in size current comfort station used to be the local jail. Obviously that was many years ago. The Vermilion River used to honor decorated boats for the Lighted Boat Parade at one of the local festivals. I had the honor of being one of the judges one year for that lighted boat parade. The Vermilion River feeds into Lake Erie. I love the Lighthouse by The Main Street Beach. Years ago the USPS had stamps that were of lighthouses, please bring back a series of lighthouses again USPS. Some of the natural broken ice sections almost look like they can be a Chihuly sculpture what do you think?
