WOW that is the word to describe how my heart reacted to reading these two books. I highly recommend both books. I read one and then read the other. Did I tell you I am an avid reader? I tend to read ministry type of books. When I catch hold of one that touches my heart I cry. Yes that is what I do. Tender words that pierce the heart that are written out of a heart that experienced tragedy and then sharing hope. That is incredible. Trust me when I suggest getting both books and reading them one after the other. You will be immensely touched by the so to speak raw words shared but done with love in the heart if that makes sense. I finished reading these books a few weeks ago but I still felt Holy Spirit tug at my heart to re-read the final chapter a second time in the "What Love Looks Like" book. I did that just a few minutes ago. When I think back on this subject, I believe I read the Never, Never, Never Give Up chapter twice also in the other book, "Finding Hope Rediscovering Life After Tragedy."
People in general tend to want another persons anointing but they fail to realize the footsteps that person walked in to flow in that anointing. Tragedy tends to be the thread connector of the beautiful quilt of life we tend to weave. Share your story and as you do you are adding to that beautiful quilt created in love. God is always there in the midst of this and that is how one can still have a song in their heart and worship Him. He is never late but He truly is always on time. He may come in a fashion different than what you imagined Him to come but He shows up. Give thanks with a grateful heart and bless the Lord, He is truly worthy of all praise. When you continue to weave your very own Life Quilt you will begin to see the beauty that truly does come forth out of the ashes. Think of it like this...each experience is a small portion of the quilt, looking at that tiny section of the quilt is nothing to ooh and aah about because it is a work in progress. Combine all the facets of your life experience and step back and then you will be able to look with awe and wonder. If I can encourage you of one thing today...it is so well worth it, do not give up hope and continue to weave the next section of your Life Quilt because you may just touch the hearts of people as you share your story. Does that make sense to you? I trust it does.
I am currently reading the newest book (by the same author mentioned in this blog entry) along side the audio version of that book. I tend to either read a chapter and then follow up with the audio version for that chapter. Sometimes I do it in reverse and listen to the audio book and follow up with reading the book chapter.
