Aldi's I'm Sorry To Say That I Am Disappointed With The Kitchen Living Pasta Maker

I waited patiently for the pasta maker to get reduced and I checked weekly to see when it would be reduced in price. I saved my Aldi's $10.00 coupon to apply towards the purchase. I tried it out today and I am sorry to say I will be returning it. First of all, the recipe to make the dough needs to be adapted to America's ingredients when it comes to the size eggs to be used. I am not familiar with any grocery store around me that sells small eggs. Thank God there is a local farmer that sells brown eggs. I had to go through several egg cartons to find one that had eggs that were close to fitting the description of a small egg. I used the two small eggs and I think it was too much for the first batch of dough. I thought I would try a second batch to see if it was any easier to use and it was not. I did find a very large egg in the brown eggs and used one and I also added some garlic salt to the dough. That batch of dough seemed to come out more smooth then the first batch.
You have to open the lid at times if you are changing the disc for making a different pasta shape. It is very hard to maneuver to get the lid off. That needs to be re-worked to correct that. Then it tells you to soak the pasta extruding discs in warm water before using. I now know why that is. Once you use the disc the pasta that is stuck in the grooves of the disc does not come out. I tried running them under very hot water, nothing came out. I then tried soaking them in hot water, nothing came out also.
I do not know how one is to get the used pasta out of the disc when cleaning it. Then, cleaning the machine is not that easy also. I tried my very best to make the best of this pasta maker but it is not an easy appliance to use or to clean up.
My idea was to start making fresh pasta and freezing it like the directions said and then my family/friends were going to get an extra Christmas gift of homemade pasta. Not going to happen this year. Aldi please try to improve upon this machine and make it happen for someone else.
I do love my memory foam chair pad I purchased the other day. I found a great double walled travel mug for only $0.79 and it works just fine. I also found a great little size pack of post-it notes for only $1.99 too.
