Be Cautious When Shopping At Aldi's. I Found Them To Change Packaging. The New Package Is 2 Ounces Less Then Previous Packaging & You Still Pay The Same Cost As The Prior Package. Is That Deceptive Or A Slick Marketing Plan?

A few weeks ago I was at Aldi's shopping. I noticed the Vegetable Chips that I purchase on occasion had two different packages. I thought to myself, they are changing the packaging and it looked smaller to me. Upon further looking at the two packages I discovered the old package was 2 ounces larger than the new packaging. The same price for less product. Of course, I selected the old package product. I thought nothing of it until I went to purchase some the other day. They no longer have the old and now you can only purchase the new one at the same price one paid for the larger size product. I do not know about you but I think that is deceptive. I searched for the corporate office phone number and each time I called it is a busy signal.
They take pride in keeping costs down and you will see their advertisement on the side of their trucks.
This is what their new ad should state...
"Aldi's Truth # 1 We are good at letting you think you are saving money, but the truth is we are deceiving you. New packaging, our way to charge you the same cost for less product."
If you choose to sell less product then reduce the price to accommodate it. Do not go on deceiving the public with your advertising about how you keep costs down. Be truthful so the general public can expect the truth and then they can decide if they want to continue shopping at Aldi's.
Please note that Aldi's does pass on savings on certain items. I guess I would not be writing this blog today if they did not do this to a product I did buy. What about the cost of almonds? Why are they at such a high price point now no matter where you seem to go?
