I Ran Across This Thought Today, May You Be Blessed With It & May It Cause You To Think

"'Fortune favors the bold' and just about every regret you will have in your life will be over the things that you did not do, rather than things that you did."

Part II is I will share with you my daily devotion from Jentezen Franklin's book, "365 Days of Spiritual Growth and Empowerment"

THE DANGER OF PAST VICTORIES
If you think you're standing firm, be careful that you don't fall.
1 Corinthians 10:12 NIV

"The time to be most careful is when you've reached a goal! There are three distinct phases in every battle. The easiest one is usually the battle itself. The most difficult phase is the period of indecision just after it begins-deciding whether to fight or run away. But by far the most dangerous phase is the aftermath. It's then, when all your resources are spent and your guard's down, that you have to watch out for discouragement, overconfidence, dulled reactions, and faulty judgments.
Remember David? He chose to "sleep in" rather that go to battle. Maybe his impressive record to successes made him soft, or careless, or arrogant-who knows. But while his affair with Bathsheba was brief, it changed everything. His peace vanished, his character was blasted, and his family life was destroyed.
Don't fall prey to the peril of past victories! Remember your "H.A.L.T." sign. When you're Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired you become vulnerable, so do something about it!
Resting on your laurels can be just another way of flirting with disaster. Danger awaits the man or woman who stays too long in the comfortable land of accomplished dreams, so stay on guard today."
