I Saw A White Dove Perched On A Light Pole The Other Morning

I was driving and while at a traffic light I looked up because something caught my attention, a white dove flew and rested on the pole by the traffic light. Now, I have seen several morning doves and I know they are grayish in color. This was a first for me to see a white dove because you just do not have that as an everyday occurrence in your life. I have seen white doves before just not perched on a traffic light pole. I just knew in that moment that Holy Spirit uses things in my life to tell me it is OK and you are on track with life. Later that evening I was blessed to hear a sermon preached at a church were the word of God moves forward and there is awesome praise/worship too. Have you ever been to a church in which the presence of God lingers in the sanctuary after the preaching is done? You know, the praise team stays on the platform and they continue to praise and worship even after the people are dismissed? That is when you get to experience the presence of God because there really is a remnant of people that are willing to stay and soak in the presence of God and to worship Him for who He is and with thankfulness in their hearts. Not seeking anything from Him just blessed to be in His presence and peace. As you already know by now, I am a worshiper I truly am. Not in the fanatical sense but just a heart that rejoices when I can worship Him with my song and expression deep from within me released as a fragrance to rise up to Him.
I believe the music was always inside of me, it has been over the last years or so that it has come forth outside of me. How can I describe this to you. Have you ever felt so at peace inside of you that you begin to just rest in that peace? I get that very presence when I worship Jesus. In those moments there are no distractions in my life I just want to reach heaven and bless Him. Not seeking anything at all from Him just so amored with Him and His presence that peace floods my being and I just know All Is Well. Later that evening as I was driving home it was already dark and the presence still lingered with me. As I was driving I was overcome with crying as I was driving. Not in a bad way it is in a very good way. I still felt the presence of the Lord and being in His presence caused gentle tears to just flow. I can describe them as tears of joy and thanksgiving. He loves you so very much that He is right there in the car with you or wherever you may be and you allow Him in. Try abandoning your thoughts and wishes and desires and your never ending list of things you want from God or want Him to do for you and just absorb His beauty and peace. You will feel so revived when you allow this to happen in your life. I think I have been so busy lately that I did not allow myself to do this and that very day was the day set aside for me to re-connect if that makes sense.
I believe it was that very day that I got a gardenia flower. Did you know that I love gardenias? As beautiful as they are and as pleasing as they are to the senses of the fragrance that emits from them, they are a very delicate flower. They are so beautiful to look at with their milky white color as the bud slowly begins to bloom.
As the flower opens up a few petals at a time the fragrance begins to release itself. I have noticed that as the first few petals open up they are the very ones that begin to get brown tinges on the edges as the other petals begin to open up in the process. I still have the gardenia in water and when I looked at it today the fragrance is still as beautiful as ever and a few of the petals are now browning even more. You see, if I would have not kept the flower in water it would have already been dried up by this point in time.
Your walk with the Lord can be compared to this delicate yet highly fragrant flower...Do not let your worship burst forth just at church and then dry up midweek. Let it be slowly released and sweetly ring into the ears of Jesus. I am sure if you really think about it daily there is always something you can be thankful for in your heart right? Do you have a gift/talent that is in operation in your life? What about the fact that you woke up in the morning and the breath of life is still with you. Did you ever think that you slept through the night with no tragedy in your life? Maybe you had an unexpected thing happen to you that day but even in the midst of this thing you were able to stay calm and feel the presence of God and peace flooded your soul. There is always something in which you can thank the Lord for on a daily basis, do and you will end up getting blessed in the long run by doing that. Did you see the sun rise today or set? Did you give your simile away to someone or did they smile at you today? Do you know that you are loved? Just have a thankful heart and that is praise in a big ole nutshell...giving thanks.
I took a few pictures of the gardenia resting in the hands of my angel figurine. I noticed that on her shoulder rests a white dove. Do you think Holy Spirit truly was speaking to me that day first with the white dove at the traffic light and then with the very figurine in which the gardenia was displayed for all to share its beauty? Peace flood your hearts this day or night depending on where you live around the world.
